1a I want to learn How to MASTER chess( get to 2000 rating on chess.com which would be
top 50 000 globally.

What do you want to learn for your student-initiated learning (SIL) activity?
(E.g., a foreign language, baking, coding, dance)
1b I will learn by Watching tutorials, reading, studying theory
and most importantly learn from the games I play. I will also analyse master games and verify
my gameplay with computers. I will also inquire with professional chess players whom i can meet
at Bishan chess club.

How do you intend to carry out your learning during your SIL activity?
(E.g., reading books, watching instructional videos)
2 I will start my SIL activity on 21 Jan 2022 and have set the following S.M.A.R.T. goals:

21 Jan start by watching and reading resources about the caro kann opening and will
test how much i have learnt using practices and computer analysis.
18 Feb I will play do puzzles to hopefully hit a puzzle rating of 2500 on chess.com
and play blitz games to try and get my rating to 1500.
18 March i will analyse master and learn queens gambit theory and check my
understanding using practices. I will also play rapid games only and get my
rating to at least 1650.
22 April I will play classical games( games which are 45 mins per a side) and try to
play as closely to the computers liking. I will know my progress by check my
progress at the end of each game and i will try to minimise mistakes as much
as possible.
23 By this date i should have attained the following ratings, 1700 rapid, 1600
september blitz, and 1300 bullet. Moreover, I should be one of the best if not the best
chess player in the cohort and one of the best in the school. during the whole
year I would be going to weekly chess tournaments at bishan chess club
which is open to anyone.I should be climbing that rating ladder there and be
at the 2200 range for the club rating there.
S.M.A.R.T goals are goals that are Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant and Time bound.

3a The potential risks involved in this activity are
ADDICTION . This is a risk as chess can be a very addictive game if not played in the correct
doses.
