Research Plan

1. Research Problem:

The Influence Of Social Media Sites on the Political Stance of STEM Students In
HCPSMSHS

2. Rationale:

As social media has become a huge part of student’s everyday life, we noticed that it
has a huge impact on the political stance of the students. Observation of the political
stance of students due to social media can determine whether what influenced them is
ethical or not. Different opinions are what defines the ideology that students acquired
from social media. Students can’t avoid political campaigns on their social media and
some candidates are using social media as a tool for their campaign.

3. Significance:

This study will be a solution to truly understand the influence of social media on the
political stance of STEM students. Through this study, it will be known if the students
are affected by the political ideologies that are posted at different social media sites. By
perceiving the influence of the posts made by several people to students, the
researchers will be able to know the different objectives that the students obtain from
social media.

4. Purpose:
The goal of this research is to evaluate and comprehend the efficacy of social media in
encouraging students' political expressions, as well as to correlate these expressions
with their degrees of exposure and socioeconomic position. This research will be carried
out in the A.Y. 2021-2022 in Honorato C. Perez Sr Memorial Science High School.

5. Method and Design: Respondents:

This study is quantitative research. The data that will be collected during the

20 respondents from grade 12 STEM
students from HCPSMSHS.
