the cable type and size.

• The termination kits shall be suitable for the type or termination like indoor
or outdoor.

• The termination kits shall be of appropriate size suitable for the cross-
section of cables and/or size of cable termination box.

• All single core termination kits shall be supplied as set of three kits.

15.4 Cable jointing kits


• The jointing kits shall be heat shrinkable type for both HV and LV cable
jointing

• The kits shall be complete with standard accessories namely heat


shrinkable insulation sleeves, crimping type connectors (ferrules), armor
and screen jointing clamps etc. supplied with kit by the cable manufacturer
for jointing of XLPE insulated, armored, screened HV power cables and
XLPE insulated, armored LV Power and control cables. Kits shall be suitable
for jointing the various cable sizes and types.

16. Cable Laying Materials


16.1 Cable Ladder/Trays
Ladder rack and accessories for all outdoor service shall be heavy-duty hot
dipped galvanized steel after fabrication (85 Microns of Zinc Coating). Cable
ladder shall have adequate duty to support the cables installed. Cable ladder
rack shall be supported at every 2 M intervals (as minimum). Contractor needs
to make sure that supports are adequate to carry the overall load (cables,
ladder etc.).
Subject to approval, racks may be made of material similar to galvanized steel
provided that it complies with the applicable standards, i.e., BS 729.
Complete accessories (bends, reducers, couplings etc.) for the cable ladder
installation shall be hot dip galvanized and from the factory. No site fabricated
accessories shall be used for the installation of cable ladder/Tray works. All the
cable tie shall be stainless steel plastic coated type. Copper bonding straps
shall be provided in all the cable Ladder/Tray joints.
16.2 Multi-Cable Transit
The MCT shall consist of the following:
