The Digital Communications System

At the heart of the Digital Communications System is the DCP. This platform allows for two-way
data communication and provides the foundations for a wealth of possibilities. It includes a
GSM gateway, emergency telephone and M2M gateway in a single unit and complies with EN81-28
and EN81-70 standards.

Using data to improve efficiency is not a new concept and the Digital Communications System
brings this to lifts, without the cost and hassle of installing a new controller. With remote
configuration and monitoring the DCP allows customers to have real time information regarding
lift status for the purposes of predictive maintenance and to inform decision making.*

The products within the Digital Communications System are easy to install as we understand
the need for minimising installation and programming time. There are also options for both on
site and remote programming.

The Avire Hub is a cloud based platform and allows for monitoring and configuration from any
internet connected device. The Avire Hub's intuitive user experience takes the hassle out of
monitoring devices and staying compliant to industry standards with actions such as 3 day test
calls and technical alerts.

(DCP) transmits data over the cellular
network’s data channels (2G/GPS and
3G), unlike older systems which use
the voice channel. Utilising the data
channel means that information can be
transferred faster and more reliably. In
addition call costs are lowered because
the voice channel is only used for two
way voice communication.
All of the digital audio modules within
the system connect to the DCP by a 4
wire CAN Bus. This allows for quick &
easy installation and addressing of the
modules, as well as the option to add
in additional sensors and CAN enabled
devices.
Using either a serial connection (RS232/
RS422/RS485) to the lift controller, or
connected sensors, lift and controller
status can be monitored remotely using
either lift controller manufacturers
software or the Avire Hub.
Throughout this catalogue the logo above

Introduction to Light Curtains
Avire has supplied light curtains to the elevator market for over 30 years and has always been at the leading
edge of the industry. More than two million Avire light curtains have reached customers ranging from global
elevator manufacturers to local, independent installers. All Avire products are designed with absolute
customer safety in mind.

All Memco light curtains are manufactured at our ISO accredited factory in the EU. They are built for quick
installation, enhanced durability and maximum safety, whether installing in a factory or in the field.

Memco light curtains are fully compliant to EN81-20 and we offer a range of protection features to suit
different customer needs. These features include 2D or 3D detection, a range of different profile designs and
the option to incorporate visible light indicators to highlight door movement.
