Tech Tip A-XX-02-31 Revision 00

Simon Ward
This document details the procedure on how to replace the 3300/5300 SCPU – release 4.

Remember Cardinal Rules and Otis Procedures, use PPE as required.

Procedure:
The lift configuration is stored in the EEPROM on the SCPU board, as there is no way of
restoring the original configuration when replacing the SCPU you will need to undertake the
original config as per below:

Before replacement:

Remember to select Configuration Mode before reading configs Select menu 40 and press OK enter
1 and press OK again

• Read out trip counter and travel time – Menu 60 - 601 and 602 – write down and keep.
• Read out the carload cell calibration data.

Enter config mode 96 and write down the actual values below:

PA READ ONLY VALUE ACTUAL VALUE

1 0kg carload frequency
2 Reference carload frequency
3 Reference carload weight

• Readout the encoder direction and phase sequence settings – Config-16 PA-14 and PA-15.

Readout the following parameters and write down – in most cases they are set depending on what is
available in the system. Best suggestion is to write down all parameters in each config.

• Parking floor, penthouse – Config-02

• Key switches in the car – Config 05/55, Config-41, and Config 17
• Pin code – Config -41 PA-1
• JDE or JAB on the LOP – Config -40 L=N, PA-21
• LCUX on floors – Config-40, L=n

After replacement:

• If required change the encoder direction and phase sequence - – Config-16 PA-14 and PA-15.
• Force learning travel as per procedure below:

1 ACTIVATE THE HMI MENU 10

2 Select submenu 116
3 Change [116 0] to [116 1] and press ok

➢ The HMI displays [116 0] the “0” blinks

➢ The learning travel will start

4 After the learning travel is completed press ESC

several times to leave submenu 116

If available and you have been able to readout the carload cell calibration data, then enter as per
below:

1 Select Config - 08, PA-01 and enter rated load of the car
2 Select Config - 08. PA-08 and enter Digisens type ( select 1 for red Digisens unit or 1
for white Digisens unit.
3 Select Config- 97 and enter the values you copied down from Config – 96

➢ Config-97, PA-1 0kg carload frequency [1-10hz]

➢ Config-97, PA-2 Reference carload frequency [1=10hz]
➢ Config-97, PA-3 Reference carload weight [1=10kg] i.e 500kg =50

4 Select Config 98 and redo the 0kg calibration

➢ Make sure the car is empty

➢ Select Config 98 and press OK HMI shows actual load – not this may not be
correct as the system is not calibrated yet.
➢ Press OK on the HMI to start the 0kg calibration – it takes 10 seconds for it to
perform the calibration once completed the HMI will indicate [Ld 0] =0 load

8 Leave the configuration mode by pressing the ESC key and changing [40 1] to [40 0]

Perform LOP counting – see next page:

After replacement continued:

• A manual LOP count is required

The manual initiation of the LOP counting has to be started with the HMI.

STEP HMI INTERACTION HMI

1 Enter config mode 40
2 Select CF=00 and press OK LE --
3 Select [LE 00] with the up/dn keys LE 00
4 Press OK
The LOP counting will be indicated by blinking [LC ____]
The LOP counting can take several minutes LC ____
5 After LOP counting is finished leave the config mode by
pressing ESC and deactivating menu 40

Change [40____1] to [40___0] and press OK

• In general, the landing Stations should hold their program. If they don’t then a LOP config will
be required – ATA Schindler 3300/5300 Programming LOPs.

Re enter parameters as per below, if required.

• Parking floor, penthouse – Config-02

• Key switches in the car – Config 05/55, Config-41, and Config 17
• Pin code – Config -41 PA-1
• JDE or JAB on the LOP – Config -40 L=N, PA-21
• LCUX on floors – Config-40, L=n

Set the time and date:

Goto Config 4. Navigate to PA-1 and enter local time in hh.mm.ss.

Navigate to PA-5 and enter date in dd.mm.yy.

Quick Tips and further information.

• To change parameters, you need to enter the config mode 40

• If you can get the original L/W data out of the system that will mean you don’t have to lug test
weights to the job.
• Reading the Parameters as listed before replacement: - As you won’t know what the parameter
is in each config it is best just to write them all down and then re-enter the changed values with
the new SCPU.

The following documents are available in your Support application to assist you with this process:

• ATA Schindler MRL 3100/3300/5300 Fault Codes.

• TRN- Service Master Class Training – Schindler 3300-5300.
