1.2 Customer Relations
Good customer relations help the customer know that his elevator
equipment is properly maintained, and helps the mechanic get
information from the customer about the performance of the elevator
equipment.

A customer who knows how the elevator is running can aid in early
detection of needed repairs.

Use the following guidelines to maintain good customer relations

when making a service call:

• Be professional and courteous on the job site.

• If possible, schedule service to minimize disruption due to

out-of-service equipment.

• Tell the customer (building representative) that you have arrived so

that he will know that servicing is being done.

• Ask the customer if the equipment is operating to his satisfaction

and if there are any problems or unusual occurrences.

• Ask the customer additional questions about the operation of the

equipment, to get performance data.

Do not do anything that would detract from the appearance of the

elevator or its surroundings!

communication and +24V power for this
interconnection.
LCEHAS Hoistway Access Switch (North American region). This
board is fitted at either the top or the bottom (or both)
floors. This board allows the relevant landing lock to be
shorted out and allows the lift car to be driven down on
inspection with the doors open to access the top of the
car or the lift pit.
LCEOPT Option board. This board is usually fitted to the
controller and it is used to connect any external inputs,
such as smoke sensors, water sensor contacts etc. A
set of output signals is also offered by this board. A
rotary switch fitted to the board determines which inputs
and outputs are connected to this board.
LCERAL Remote Alarm board. This board is used to generate the
“help coming” signal for the COP. Also connections are
provided to connect a remote alarm system.
LCEREC Power supply board.
LOP230 Power supply distribution with fuses.
LOPCB User interface board.

Part Description
1 Emergency brake release
2 Emergency battery drive unit - EBD
3 V3F drive unit - LCEDRV
4 Circuit breaker and inspection panel
5 Central processor unit - LCECPU / LOPCB
6 Safety circuit board - LCE230 / LCEADO
7 Option board - LCEOPT
8 Remote alarm board - LCERAL
9 Gateway board - LCEGTW

This controllers are used for new installations and modernizations and
comes in various options, such as MonoSpace (machine room less)
and MiniSpace (with machine room).

Known Drive-Types: • Hydraulic

• Traction with 2-speed AC drive
• Traction with V3F-AC drive.

The main component in this system is the LCECPU print. It is used to

control special functions of the elevator as well as to distribute landing
calls for answering. The safety circuit print is either the LCE230 and
LCEADO print for Europe, Hong Kong etc, or the LCEADON print for
the North American Region. Different prints are used because of code
differences/requirements in different areas.
The LCEDRV print (not shown above) is used if a third party drive or
hydraulic drive is used with this system. This is an interface board
between the LCECPU print and the drive or hydraulic valves.
The new version of the controller is splitted into two PCBs
(LCECPUnc and LOPCB). In this case the LOPCB is used as an user
interface.

114 K 42512000_03
Learning of Door Parameters

The AMD door operator needs to learn the site door parameters, such
as door width, speed profile, etc. before running in normal operation.
The procedure for learning these parameters is as follows:
• With the door power supply off, place the door panels in the closed
position.
• Power up the door operator and immediately press the LEARN
button.
Use the TEST drive button to drive the door in the closed direction.
Learning of the door parameters is done during full door width
movement cycles.
The following DIP switch settings are taken from a door drive in North
America. The settings/functions in the EU versions of the door drive
can differ!

10.5 Fault Codes
The codes for faults can be viewed via the E mode on the seven-
segment display. A blinking number in the sub-menu and value
displays is the code of an actual fault. Keep in mind that several fault
codes exist for a single fault. For example, disconnection of output
signal from a channel on the bar reader causes three fault codes,
0101, 0001 and 0083. On the contrary some fault codes may not be
an actual fault condition. For example changing elevator to
“Inspection” mode will cause a fault code for safety circuit broken
(0021).
The first entry (01) is the newest event.
