- Check the tightness of all the connections of contactors, relays etc.
- Swing the bay out of the bay compartment (by losening the two outer
fixing screws).
- Make a visual check of the connection pins of the print edge connectors.
The pins must not touch each other and thus make electrical connections.
- Furtheron take care that all the horizontally arranged supply bars are
properly clamped.
- Take care that the following connection-tests do not show a
conductive connection (When using an ohmmeter for instance):
- Of all the supply bars (POg, VOD' Vee' Vss towards MO 1)
(see appendix 1).
From terminal P3 to all the connection pins of the cross-sectional
adapter.
,-.;::. ",'.'
- Open the connection from PE to M01 and interconnect an ohmmeter:
there must not exist any other connection between PE and MOl.

Select a test stop which shall possibly be situated in the middle of the
shaft. However, if the height of a floor is extremely small (e.g. lower than
2,5 m), then such a floor shall be chosen as test stop, unless this floor
is a terminal floor, or the last but one uppermost floor.
Charge the car with half the load.
The test travels to follow shall extend to minimum two floor distances and
be directed downwards to the test stop.
The tachometer generator must be fitted with a temperatur-compensation
circuit and with silver-carbon brushes. The said circuit is connected to
the terminals underneath the cover of the tachometer generator.
The radio-shielding of the tacho-generator cable shall be connected ex-

10. Adjusting the Integrator

At first make a test travel from above towards the test stop over min.
two floor distances and measure the levell ing error. If this error exceeds
10 mm, shift the ring magnet for KBR-D in the shaft respectively.
If the ring magnet for KBR-D cannot be shifted further any more (as shown
in appendix 15), and the car is overtravelling nevertheless, a. manipulation
on print SWD becomes necessary:
Insert the MCshort-circuiting bridge "tINT" (Be2) into position 2, to
shorten the braking distance by 6 %, or into position 3, to shorten the
braking distance by 12 % (see appendices 12, 13, and 14).
levelling errors of 10 mm or less. are corrected by means of the integration
potentiometer PI SWD. By turning clockwise, the braking distance becomes
shorter, by turning anticlockwise, the braking distance becomes longer.
:) For correcting 5 mm, approx. 3 revolutions are necessary.
The lift is to be adjusted to a maximum levelling error of + 2 mm
(car floor compressed, because of half load).

11. Final Setting of Magnetic Brake

Discharge the car load.
Travel downwards over one or two floor distances:
The brake release time may last max. 0,5 seconds, since otherwis~there
is the danger of an undesirable, additional temperature rise of the
hoisting motor. The brake release time is adjusted by means of P2 BlD.
Adjust the potentiometer P2 on print PE80 in such a way, that the brake
applies right at the moment when the motor shaft is about to turn back-
wards. Ensure that the number of revolutions is reducing to zero by
electrical braking.

12. Adjustment of Ride Comfort

If the initiation of the electrical braking effects a jerk, such a short-
coming can be met by re-adjusting Pl RED.
The relay RVZ shall pick up right before relay RKBI. By turning clock-
wise RVZ picks up earlier. This adjustment requires to travel over one and
two floor distances in both directions.

\
/-

As a next step, check whether relay RVZ drops out again after an inspection
travel. Otherwise Pl RED must be corrected by turning anticlockwise.
If the jerk following electrical braking remains objectionable, the
RD-component across the coil of contactor SH2 can be exchanged. A low-
resistance RO-component extends the dropping-out time, a high-resistance
one shortens that time (Determination of the resistance values by means
of colour code: see below).

13. 6 to .4 Po 1e Changi ng
On travels over two and more floor distances, the pole-changing from the
6-pole to the .4-pole winding in the hoisting motor takes place at approx.
45 % of the nominal revolutions per minute.
}
- For 60 Hz installations also 8/6 pole motors are used sometimes.
- In the case of VKN • 1 mis, the changing-over takes place also when
travelling over a single floor distance.
The changing-over point is not adjustable.
If the changing-over is still felt by the passengers in the car, the RD-
component on the coil of SH1 can be exchanged or entirely omitted. By
inserting a high-resistance RD-component, the overlapping time will be
shortened. Omitting the WD-component results in a still shorter over-
lapping time.

14. Adjustment of, Slowdown

The slowdown can be adjusted by means of potentiometer P7 SWD within
certain limits.
During an up-travel with the car empty, P7 SWD is turned cautiously to
the left, until the trigger relay RVZ switches on while the car is still
moving. From this point of adjustment P7 SWD must be turned slightly to
the right till the trigger is not responding any more during travel, even
not when friction is getting less, causing the lift to run faster.

Following this procedure, the mlnlmum possible slowdown will be found.
3
If a stronger slowdown is desired, this can be achieved by turning P7 SWO
to the right.
Subsequently, charge the car with half its rated load and make a test
travel. If a leve11 ing error would sti 11 occur, correct with P1 SWD.

15. Final Adjustment of the Ring Magnets for KBR-O and KBR-U
Measure the distance SKA of the properly adjusted braking distance (KBR-O
of the test stop) with the measuring tape. All the other ring magnets
for KBR-O and KBR-U shall now be adjusted to this measure.
Take care that at the terminal stops the slowdown initiation is given by
the ri ng magnet for KSE.

16. Adjustment of the Safety Features

16.1 ~~j~~!~~~!_~!_!b~_~l~~~~~~_~~~!!~r!~g
The slowdown monitoring must initiate an emergency stop if the lift fails
to slowdown when passing a determined point ahead of a terminal stop.
The monitoring is performed by means of the magnetic switches KBR-O and
KBR-U and the associated ring magnets.
For adjustment, place the car with half its rated load at the last but
lowest stop. Move the car from there to the lower terminal stop. -The car
should level-in correctly.
Now, shift the ring magnet for KBR-O by approx. 500 mm upwards and check
whether a subsequent travel from the last but one lowest stop to the
lower terminal stop initiates an emergency stop. If this is not the case,
examine the circuit of the slowdown monitoring control ..
Place the ring magnet back to its original position and fix it there.
Afterwards, the same test has to be repeated with an empty car, and if
an emergency stop would be initiated, the distance SKK is to be shortened.

Proceed with the adjustment by placing the car with half its rated load
at the last but one uppermost stop. Move the car from there to the upper
terminal stop. The car should level-in correctly.

Now, shift the ring magnet for KBR-U by approx. 500 mm downwards and check
whether a subsequent travel from the last but one uppermost stop to the
upper terminal stop initiates an emergency stop. If this is not the case,
examine the circuit of the slowdown monitoring control.
Place the ring magnet back to its original position and fix it there.
Afterwards, the same test has to be repeated with a full-load car, and if
an emergency stop would be initiated, the distance SKK is to be shortened.

16.2 !~~~_~f_!b~_~~f~!~:_~~~_~9~!!~r!~9_~!~~~!!
In addition to the usual testing of the safety circuit resp. monitoring
circuit, make also sure that the lift is blocked if one of the 4 prints
of the electronic device has been taken out.

\
,j
16.3 ~r~~!~9_~~rr~~!_!~~!
Remove the two fuses SIB1 on the electronic device. Check whether, owing to
the absence of braking current (RKB1), an emergency stop is initiated
short of the destination stop during an upward or downward travel. This test
must not take place at the terminal stops. Re~insert the two fuses after
the test.

16.4 ~~~~i~9_!1~~_!~~!
Open main switch JH.
Remove the conductor from terminal No.3 of the opto-coupler TUET ..
Close main switch JH.
Move the empty car upwards to an arbitrary floor by controlling it from
the machine room.
The lift is slowing down electrically, however, the mechanical brake does
not apply on time.
The lift keeps "creeping on" with the eddy-current brake excited, until the
time-lag element ZKBI (P5 on print PE 80) has timed out and effects appli-
cation of the brake. The time should amount to approx. 5 seconds. Correct
with P5 (cw = longer, ccw = shorter).

17. Adjustment of Door Trigger TRT
In some countries the local regulations demand that-the speed of the lift must
not exceed 0,5 mls at the beginning of door opening. The door trigger TRT on
SWD ensures that this regulation can be complied with.
In order to ensure switching of the trigger at the correct speed, the 14C-short
circuit bridge (Bel) for the trigger TRT on print SWD must be inserted in a
position, that is designated with the rated speed of the lift.

with VKN ~ 1,5 m/s: position 1,6 m/s is to be used

with VKN = 1,75 m/s: pOSition 2,0 m/s is to be used

18. Adjustment of Load Correction

\, Make one test travel downwards each with empty and full-load car and measure
/
the levelling error.
If the full-load car overtravels by more than 5 mm, and the empty car levels-in
with an error of more than 5 mm short, the load correction is not effective
enough, and P3 SWD shall be turned to the right by approx. 1/4 turn.
If the full-load car levels-in with an error of more than 5 mm short, and the
empty car overtravels by more than 5 mm, the load correction is too strong,
and P3 SWD shall be turned to the left by approx. 1/4 turn.
Each time P3 SWD has been adjusted, a test travel with half-loaded car shall
be made, and a possible error corrected by P1 SWD.

19. Landing Calls

19.1 ~iJEel~~
In the case of Simplex installations, the landing calls can be initiated at
the terminals 202 - 200+1i for Down calls and at the terminals 301 - 300+
(N-1) for UP calls by shortly connecting them with MOl.

necessary.
Adaption Facilities for Print Exchange
The potentiometers P6, P8 and P9 are adjusted in the works to show for all prints
the same print characteristics. If the levelling differences on print exchange
cannot be equalized by means of Pl, an adaption can be achieved with the poten-
tiometers mentioned above.

Adjustments on DYNATRON 2 - Drive Prints
The drive electronic prints for Dynatron 2 installations are fitted with various
potentiometers which only partially serve for adjustments of the installation.
The reference value print SWO is fitted with potentiometers which are adjusted
in the works by means of special high-precision tools and must not be altered
in any case.

3. Adjustment of the brake
3.1 ~djustment of the working stroke of the magnet
- Adjust the limit stop play S (Fig. 2) to approx. 2 mm.
- Release both nuts of the eye bolt and pull the eye bolt with the fork
completely out of the magnet, so that the magnet core rests on its stroke
limiter (Fig. 2).
- Tighten both nuts of the eyebolt by hand in this position.
Subsequentely release the outer nut by approx. 1 1/2 turns, and tighten
the inner nut completely.
Care must be taken that the axle in the eye bolt is in horizontal position.

5 3.2 Adjustment of the brake, limit stops
5 - Open the brake electrically and set the geared machine running.
---
By turning the limit stop nut, push one of the brake arms at first, then
the other, toward the brake pully, until the brake lining slightly grazes.
Then turn the nuts slightly back, until the brake pulley runs easily, and
lock them.
- Check this adjustment after several applications of the brake, with the
machine running in either direction.
- Should the magnet core bounce upon a limit stop when releasing the brake
(giving a ringing, strong bang), change the position of the eye bolt a
little bit in the direction of the magnet.
Attention: On Dynatron lifts the brake operates only if the print BLD is
-----,----- plugged in. The instruction for setting Dynatron lifts into
operation shall be observed when switching on the installation,
and, among others, the initial voltages shall be measured.
Wrongly adjusted potentiometers of print BLD might be the cause
of the brake's failure to release. In such a case both potentio-
meters shall be turned clockwise right to their stop limit.
3.3 Adjustment of the brak". contact
Adjust the brake contact to switch on after approx. 1,5 (mm) stroke of the
magnet. With the application of the brake, make sure that the contact
switches back with sufficient clearance.

5 Checking and re-adjustment of the brake
4.

To be checked Re-adjustment required

---~~---~-----~------

Stroke of magnet As soon as the indicator of the magnet stroke shows

that there is no over-stroke reserve any more (Fig. 3)
f-- -------~--"~~"------
Levelling accuracy If there are levelling inaccuracies
Noise If the bouncing of the brake application becomes too
strong (because the distance between the brake linings
and the brake pulley is too large).
Emergency stopping If the emergency stopping distance upward empty is larger
distance than the slow down and levelling-in distance of the lift

After the first 50 to 100 travels with new brake linings,

they shall be re-adjusted to the brake pulley.
When re-adjusting, the complete brake is to be adjusted again acc. to oara 3.

5. ~e-adjustment of the thrust bearings of the gear

The thrust bearing may be re-adjusted, if necessary, in the following way:
- Place the counte~~ight on its plinth and release the brake springs
completely, or release the brake itself.
- When re-adjusting the thrust bearing, the peripheral force of the rope on
the traction sheave must press the worm in the direction of the coupling.
This is achieved by turning the hand-/flywheel, so that either
- the counterweight being on the coupling side: the counterweight will
be lifted slightly,
or
- the car being on the coupling side: the car will be lifted slightly.
- Ensure that t~e pressure ring has no play, i.e. tighten it by hand.
The thrust bearing must not jam.
- After the re-adjustment being performed:
W54S: tighten the three securing screws in the pressure ring by little
turns, alternating equally from one to the other.
W57 .•. W60: tighten the securing screw in the pressure ring.
