Student Profile – BSc in Graphic Design with 7.0 CGPA, 1 project during college, 1
internship during college, almost 2 years of work experience, planning to do MS in
Interaction design / UI/UX

I strongly believe that human intelligence combined with creativity and technology has more
power in changing this world and definitely has an answer for everything. That was the very
reason I chose to pursue a career in creativity related field. Having spent three years pursuing
an under-graduate degree in XXXXX and professional experience of 1.5 years in User
Interface and Experience, I have come to an understanding that we can create a better world,
if the available platforms are used efficiently and intelligently. I would like to experience the
thrill of discovery, rewards for research work and the sheer joy of grasping intricate concepts
that the graduate study promises. So, mastering XXXXX is the ideal case for me.

My encounter with UI/UX was during my fourth semester when my professor Dr.XXXX
suggested me to do a project on “XXXXX”. In this project, I XXXX (Project Description).
The project was an eye opener on my creative & technical capability. It was at this point,
where I developed a thirst for a career connected to UI/UX/Interaction design.

During my senior year I took an internship with XXXXX. Here I designing the interface for
an complementary purchase plug-in for a major ecommerce portal. This plug-in recommends
the paired product which user habitually buy at the same time with one or more products in
the shopping cart. I designed the user interface which would suggest the right product that the
user would be more interested to buy to increase the user experience and sales. The output of
the plug-in was real and effective. What started here transformed me from just an another
undergraduate student to becoming the “UI UX Guy” of my college. It was the design &
creativity which had gifted me these.

I was campus recruited by XXXXXX, a leading MNC in India. My XX months’ work

experience here, helped me gain a clear insight into the UI/UX process and I was actively
involved in Analysis, design, development, testing and Implementation of front end design
solution using XXXX, XXXX, XXXX, XXXX, XXX. My responsibilities were also of

different kind and variety that gave me the opportunity of using the right tools when and
where they make sense and working on an intuitive experience that helps users effectively
analyse and use the application. I received the Best Performer Award for 3 consecutive
quarters in 2018.

I envision myself as a full-fledged UI/UX professional with the right combination of skill,
knowledge and dedication. As amount of application increases, its utilities are demanding
more in quantum and I believe that simple, neat and clean interface would see a major boost
dealing with concern such as flow and bounce rate. I have realized that the application of UI
UX techniques would be of prime importance in the future and I would like to chip in with
my share of this application. I would like to be a part of an organization and achieve
organizational goals by using my skills and knowledge with a pro-active approach. I realize
that the knowledge gained so far is nothing but a drop with a large ocean left behind. Hence I
have decided to supplement my knowledge with a master’s degree.

Having learnt the fact that your university offers good courses in the field of XXXX and the
curriculum matches my requirements, I would like to quench my thirst for knowledge, by
being a part of it. I believe that your graduate program will allow me to become a successful,
innovative professional and give assistance to accomplish my goals. It would be a great
privilege if granted the opportunity to study at XXXXX University and with the knowledge I
gained till now I believe that I am a perfect candidate for the program.
