This letter illustrates my enthusiasm for the Erasmus scholarship for a Master of Science

in Imaging and Light in Extended Reality. I learned about this program when looking
for opportunities that align with my skills and passion. After delving deep into the course
structure and core topics, I compared the course outcome and my passion. To my
surprise, this opportunity is everything I always struggled for. Elaborating further,
Imaging and Light in Extended Reality take the concepts of Virtual Reality (VR),
Augmented Reality (AR), and Mixed Reality (MR) to a whole new level. The subjects
involve using the physics of lighting to enhance the experience of extended reality. The
graduates of this program will have market-leading skills with a firm grip on the
implication of extended reality in daily life applications.VR, AR, and MR are shaping
gaming, healthcare, architecture, and education. Doctors perform surgeries, architects
design buildings, and students learn through the applications of extended reality.
Until now, I wrote about the course and why I am desperate to be a part of it. But now, I
will explain why I consider myself an ideal candidate to compete for this scholarship
when there are many other options.
During my final year of graduation, I worked on two main projects, including Under
Construction Mall Booking System and Hlaf Touch of 3D designs of Malls. Students
of my age are expected to prefer surfing the internet and finding the answers to their
questions instead of delving into practical work. However, it was not my choice for my
final year projects. I step into practical work and build unique designs using the virtual
reality concept. These 3D-designed models helped me to give my clients a clear picture
of what the construction in reality will look like. I have worked with some real-estate
agencies to obtain the most realistic results possible for my projects. I helped them in
their marketing campaigns using 3D animations to showcase the architecture.
Besides the final-year projects, I integrate the concept of extended reality into my
everyday freelance work. I offer my services as an architect to clients from different
European countries. In creating a design or model, giving the targeted audience a clear
and accurate picture is essential. And to achieve that level of realistic immersion, the
application of virtual reality is key. The number of satisfied clients I have shows my grip
over skills in the field of extended reality and excellent communication with international
clients. But learning never ends, and keeping this in mind, I often enroll myself in online
courses from trusted platforms. The recent courses that I completed from Cousera are
‘Fundamentals of Color and Appearance,’ ‘Introduction to Virtual Reality,’ and ‘3D
Data Visualization for Science Communication.’ I came this far only because of my
hard work and interest in this field.
My hard work and interest in extended reality are why I want to enroll in a Master of
Science in Imaging and Light in Extended Reality program. This program is a perfect
opportunity for me to learn about new developments in the field from the experts. My
selection for the Erasmus scholarship for this program will give me equal ground to
compete with professionals worldwide without worrying about resources and limitations.
With this program, I will be able to not only master my skills but also give back to
individuals like myself who have immense passion for this field.
I value the time you have dedicated to my letter. To be selected would be a dream come
true, and I'm confident this is the beginning of a meaningful expedition.
Regards,
Mubarak Ahmed
