INVENTION PROJECT
EXPECTATIONS:
 Demonstrate scientific investigation skills (related to both inquiry and research) in the four
areas of skills (initiating and planning, performing and recording, analysing and interpreting,
and communicating).
 Analyze technologies that apply principles of, and concepts related to concepts attained in
physics, and assess the technologies’ social and environmental impact;
 Demonstrate an understanding of physics terms from Dynamics, Kinematics and WEP (Work,
Energy and Power);
 Describe the contributions of scientists to this field of study.

For this assignment you will work individually OR in a group of 2 and


1. Identify a technology either past or present that includes operations that have a basis in at least
3 topics from the Dynamics, Kinematics and WEP units. Demonstrate using discussion and
solved problems the physics involved.
2. Assess the impact this technology may have (or had) on our social framework and /or
environment
3. Marginalized scientists are often not given credit for their work. Research a scientist form a
marginalized group such as Black, indigenous, LGBTQ2 and describe their contributions to
science.
4. Present the information to the class using one of the formats in the choice board below.
