CÁCH PHÁT ÂM ĐUÔI –ED


Lưu ý: Chúng ta sẽ dựa vào phiên âm cuối cùng của từ để xác định cách đọc
đuôi -ed, chúng ta KHÔNG dựa vào chữ cái cuối cùng của từ để xác định cách
đọc đuôi -ed. Ví dụ như từ: “watch” phiên âm là /wɑːtʃ/ phiên âm cuối cùng của
từ này là /tʃ/ do vậy chúng ta phải đọc là /wɑːtʃt/. Nếu chúng ta dựa vào chữ cái
cuối cùng từ từ là từ /h/ thì chúng ta sẽ đọc là /wɑːtʃd/ – cách đọc này là sai nhé!
I. Cách đọc -ed là /ɪd/
Ta sẽ phát âm là /ɪd/ với các động từ kết thúc bằng âm /t/ hoặc /d/
(theo phiên âm).
Ví dụ:
– want /wɔːnt/ -> wanted  /wɔːntɪd/
– need /niːd/ -> needed /niːdɪd/
I wanted to go to the supermarket because I needed to buy some chicken for
dinner.
II. Cách đọc âm /t/
Ta sẽ phát âm là /t/ với các động từ kết thúc bằng âm vô thanh như là /k/, /p/, /s/,
/f/, /tʃ/, /ʃ/.
Ví dụ:
– stop /stɑːp/ -> stopped /stɑːpt/
– cook /kʊk/ -> cooked /kʊkt/
I watched TV last night.
– dance /dæns/ -> danced /dænst/
– jump /dʒʌmp/ -> jumped /dʒʌmpt/
– laugh /læf/ -> laughed /læft/
– type /taɪp/ -> typed /taɪpt/
– watch /wɑːtʃ/ -> watched /wɑːtʃt/
III. Cách đọc âm /d/
sẽ phát âm là /d/ với các động từ kết thúc bằng các âm còn lại.
– learn /lɜːrn/ -> learned /lɜːrnd/ 
– smell /smel/ -> smelled /smeld/ 
– appear /əˈpɪr/ -> appeared /əˈpɪrd/
