Blood of Dhanamri

The dark clouds which perpertually hung over Dhanamri thundered as Pjarack Bhaadi
returned to the city of his Maharajah, indicating the displeasure of the vampiric
master of the city. Indeed there were few on which the ancient creature could vent
its rage- Bhaadi returned to Dhanamri practically alone. The unexplained deaths and
disappearances of most of his human followers within the city was cause for great
concern, and what few priests had not suffered final death were left behind to
cultivate what Bhaadi had accomplished.

Rather than turn Dwarapur into a thrall city of Dhanamri, the Silver Tongues had
achieved little more than an opening, a means to continue their work. Their death
cult within Dwarapur would prepare the deceased nobility to be summoned from beyond
the grave- indeed, the Maharajah was pleased most with this means of gathering
information from the spirits of the dead. But it would take years, if not decades,
to truly reap the rewards of that achievement. The fact that the fledgling death
cult was greatly overshadowed by the acceptance of the Crescent Lord within
Dwarapur only further vexed the Maharajah.

To soothe his master's wrath, Bhaadi attempted to placate the Maharajah with the
Philosopher's Stone, a gift received from Prajit Mahk. While the Dwarapurian
scholar had ascribed only symbolic value to the volcanic rock, it was in fact a
font of Dhar- dark magic, a powerful took to fuel the necromantic rituals performed
by the vampires. The recovery of the stone pleased the Maharajah greatly, and soon
after plans were made to recover its sister stone, still firmly in the hands of
Kirit Ghosha.

Another achievement of Bhaadi and his followers had been preventing the Shallyans
of North Bretonnia from building an orphanage. The street urchins would remain
unprotected, providing a steady food source for the red-robed priests of Dhanamri
who remained behind in Dwarapur. Unexpectedly the Bretonnians had been quite
helpful in this regard- their efforts in clearing the rats from the streets meant
better hygiene and fewer diseases, keeping the children alive long enough for the
vampires to prey on them. All that remained was tying up loose ends- both Adeem
Qarat and his wife Nur, recently given the Blood Kiss to ensure the merchant's
loyalty to the Silver Tongues, were destroyed and scattered to the winds.

Perhaps the greatest achievement of the Silver Tongues was not what they had
accomplished for themselves, but how they had hindered their rivals. The warpstone
within Urvish Jali's mines remained, untouched by the monks of the Crescent who had
sought to claim it for themselves. That move preserved the precious material so
that the Silver Tongues could gather it at a later date. The disappearance of the
mastermind behind the maneuver- captain Cro- was deemed suspicious by both
Dwarapur's origins and the Silver Tongues themselves, in light of the recent
bloodbath among Dhanamri's emmisaries. Yet in the end it had tied up loose ends
marvellously, and so the Maharajah was content to leave matters be, instead
concerning himself with the path to Dwarapur's eventual subjugation...
