Company Profile:
Company that I have chosen is – “TATA MOTORS”.
Tata Motors Limited is an Indian multinational automotive manufacturing company,
headquartered in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, and part of Tata Group. The company
produces passenger cars, trucks, vans, coaches, buses, sports cars, construction
equipment and military vehicles.[4]
Formerly known as Tata Engineering and Locomotive Company (TELCO), the
company was founded in 1945 as a manufacturer of locomotives. The company
manufactured its first commercial vehicle in 1954 in a collaboration with Daimler-
Benz AG, which ended in 1969. Tata Motors entered the passenger vehicle market in
1988 with the launch of the TataMobile followed by the Tata Sierra in 1991,
becoming the first Indian manufacturer to achieve the capability of developing a
competitive indigenous automobile.[5] In 1998, Tata launched the first fully indigenous
Indian passenger car, the Indica, and in 2008 launched the Tata Nano, the world's
cheapest car. Tata Motors acquired the South Korean truck manufacturer Daewoo
Commercial Vehicles Company in 2004 and purchased Jaguar Land
Rover from Ford in 2008.
Tata Motors' principal subsidiaries include English premium car maker Jaguar Land
Rover (the maker of Jaguar and Land Rover cars) and the South Korean commercial
vehicle manufacturer Tata Daewoo. Tata Motors has a bus-manufacturing joint
venture with Marcopolo S.A. (Tata Marcopolo), a construction-equipment
manufacturing joint venture with Hitachi (Tata Hitachi Construction Machinery), and
a joint venture with Fiat Chrysler which manufactures automotive components and
Fiat Chrysler and Tata branded vehicles.

 Employee satisfaction:

Job satisfaction or employee satisfaction is a measure of workers'


contentedness with their job, whether they like the job or individual
aspects or facets of jobs, such as nature of work or supervision. Job
satisfaction can be measured in cognitive, affective, and behavioral
components. So, employee satisfaction is the one of the most
important part of corporate life. The future of the company and the
achievements of that are depend of the employees so their satisfaction
is also a factor for the company growth and achievements.

 Research Methodology:

The data has collected from the company through the questioners. Analysis
and the interpretation have been done by using the statistical tools and the
basis of the primary and secondary data.

 Research Method:

The research based on the survey method and to find the level of the
satisfaction of the employees.

 Sample design:

Sample design is the process of a work chart or a flow chart that define the
plan for obtaining the sample from the given population. Probability
sampling, Simple random sampling, convenience sampling are mainly used
for this survey for the study. It gives each element in the population an equal
probability of getting into the sample; and all choices are independent of one
another. It gives each possible sample combination an equal probability of
being chosen.

 Sample size:

Here for the survey and study the sample size should be no longer so here
we collected the data of the 25-30 employees and on that basis we have done
the survey on the employee satisfaction.

 Questioners:
Here for the study mainly based on the questioners. So here we have used
the open ended and close ended both type of questions, but we need to look
at the point that the quest should not for any harassment, should not be so
longer and should be time consumptions. Here the questioners should be
multiple choice and the LIKERT type questions and some open ended
questions and also some dichotomous questions are be there.

So here some sample of questioners that has uses to do this survey on the
employee satisfaction level.

DATA COLLECTION
There are two types of data collections are there –

 Primary data collection- primary data are those data which collect from
the research design, sample design, research methodology, survey etc. The
population for the present study will be mainly management consultants,
social scientists, employees of Infosys Technologies and the Tata Group,
other stakeholders and also members of the general public, including those
who have had some interaction with these companies. They will be chosen
keeping the objectives of our research study and the constraints of time and
budget that we have.

 Secondary data collection- the secondary data collection is totally depends


on the previous data that available in the internet. The Secondary data will
be obtained from Newspapers like The Times of India, The Hindu, The
Economic Times, The Financial Times, HR and financial periodicals,
Annual Reports and websites of the companies, Business sites like business
economics etc. All the data will be collated before presenting and
references will be cited in the Bibliography keeping in mind the copyright
needs and credit will be given where due to the authors

 Method of data collection - The present study will be done using Personal
Interview with a questionnaire method to collect the Primary data.

Here some data has been collected for this research purpose, to evaluate the data it
is very helpful for study and know that how we can clarify the employee
satisfaction. The data has been collected from primary source and secondary
source both. The data about the employee’s age, their education qualification and
as per the above questioners the data has been collected.
Data analysis
The data that has been collected should some analysis for more clarity. From the
analysis of the data we can easily understand the satisfaction level of the
employees.

Here the age mix has been collected that to understand the ratio of the employees
work in the company and their satisfaction of the work and from the age details we
can also understand the age mix of the employees and it helps to give the data as
per the questioners for the survey.

Above data we see that the age mix and the qualification of the employees
who works in the company. As per the questioners the analysis is that the

Here we can see that from the survey that 75% employee are happy with the work
environment like team work, relation with co-workers, ethics, company policy etc .
And 25% are not happy yet.

Here we can see that the 70% workers are happy with the work safety and security
and others 30% are not happy. So from the part we understand that work security is
less satisfied in that company from the work environment and others.

Here we can see that 80%employees are happy with the salary package and
20% are not happy with the salary package.

Not only the above factors satisfy the employees but also in that company
the “BRAND” also gives the satisfaction to the employees for the brand
value of TATA some employees are more satisfied in their work life.

Here, from the above diagram we see that the satisfaction level of the
employees are 70% in the team work and 30% are not happy with their team
and group works.

As per the survey we see that the 70% employees are happy with work place
facilities and rest are not happy.

The 65% of the employees are happy with the development of the company and
the growth but 35 % are not happy. So, from the above survey that others
factors are more efficient than others.

Here from the data collection and after analysis the data we can understand
the emergency facility are also the big factor of the satisfaction so here the
80% of employees are happy with the emergency facilities and rest 20% are
not.
LIMITATION OF THE PROJECT
 This is the study based on survey and responses. So, there is a chance
to be not 100% accuracy.

 This project has done by in short time span so there is a chance not to
correct 100%.

 Based on the employee reviews and secondary data.

Conclusion
From the above study and survey, it’s very clear that the employee satisfaction of
TATA STEEL industry. TATA STEEL is one of the best steel industries in
INDIA. The industry has managed their TQM and the HR policies very ethically
and knows for that in whole world. The employees are very much satisfied by their
work and the company policies and the factors that effect on the satisfaction. The
brand of TATA is also a big factor of the satisfaction. But company should also
look at the 20% or 30% employees who are not satisfied with the factors. All the
employees are motivated and work together to achieve the company's goal.
Because of highly motivated employees, the COMPANY division increases its
production this year from the employees who are very lucky, who are working and
who will work for TATA. And the employees give their best for the company and
provide best work flow for the company that helps them to lead a good life at
present.
