FORM 2. PERSONAL STATEMENT
Instructions: Please type in Korean or in English. The essay must be single spaced within TWO pages, with the font
Times New Roman/바탕체/돋움체, size 11. (11 points) The essay should include the following things. Please remove
the instructions after reading it.

The educational conscience is basically the purpose of college studies. Every individual I have met and
spoken to describe a gradual and complete change in viewpoint about the world after completing a higher
education. It expands our knowledge of what is happening around us as well as teaches us to analyze our
world and society from a different point of view. My motivation to enroll in your program are based on the
desire to expand my knowledge, reach out to new ideas, learn about the world around so that I can formulate
an individual opinion and contribute to our society. Knowledge alone by itself cannot have any significant
impact on your life or on that of others. Only by applying that knowledge to a particular goal, idea or action
on thought and dedicating one to achieving something from life. My desire is to take the course that will
propel towards my career goals by applying knowledge theoretically to a variety of ends, either constructive
or professionally. But i think everyone needs a code of ethics that they can follow. There is more to acting
morally than just signing off on release forms when filling out sheets for an architect class. I realize I need to
do everything I can uphold a policy of academic honesty and that is precisely what I intended to do when I
attend college.

Higher education has been a dream for my entire family. I still dream about it to this day. I am not privileged
in that, my family does not have any financial means to send me to a college with such high expenses. I am
very much privileged to have a family that supports me in every way in my journey. They taught me
meaning and joys of sacrifice, and it is with that attitude that I hope to approach to my college studies. As
always being an active student in school both in classroom and also in extracurricular activities also. I was
always a favorite student to my teachers. My parents worked impossibly long hours each day to ensure that
me and my brother sister had all we needed to succeed in our academics.

Things don't have to be always easy on you. My father is a defense worker. As a school student I was always
interested in extracurricular rather than studying. I loved sports, having good leadership qualities I was
always chosen to lead school teams for any event that was held. But with this I was quite popular among
students as well as teachers. My object teachers in high school were kind of afraid that if I continued
focusing more on sports or extracurricular I might won’t be able to make it to higher standards or I might
won’t get enough marks to get a good college. Since this hit me hard and during my high school year I was
selected for the nationals sports meet that were held every year in country. During that meet I was captain of
my team and lead my team to be winning the first position. After that we had our final examination and in
that too I cleared all my subjects with good markings. That’s when I realized my worth. If we consider
something with whole heart we get the courage to somehow do it.

While participating in extracurricular activities during my senior school I learned to be a good leader while
leading many community works. Moreover being a good leader also brings a lot of responsibilities. During
my community work during the school years we were taught to spread love and be kind to everyone. Being a
student what we see is what we apply to our daily lives. I was always in such an environment where we get
to learn to be helpful to you country, your friends, and enemies also. As a citizen of a developing country,
there is still some backwardness and poverty we have seen in our country. There is also lack of education
also. However it’s all different stereotypes that were built as the generation passes by.

Being active physically and mentally I was always interested in sports. I just loved to be in grounds. When
first I was selected for handball sports it was just a coincidence when I got selected as I just went with my
friend to see the trials. when I first got selected into the team it was just for the preferences because left
handed people are rare and they were kind of hard to catch during the game so, being a left handed one I got
The preference and got selected into team. First two years being an additional player I was just a beginner
learner. After two years of hard work and practice I got chance to play into the team and during that time we
stood on second position. After that I just got perfect and perfect in my field and got a chance to lead my
team for nationals meet. Enhancement of the skills on ground made me participate twice in the national
meets. I have learned that when you love to do something you just get focused to it no matter what the
distractions are. Getting focused is one of the main things we had to take care while focusing in future.
While learning I always got injured but it’s just a pathway to your success. Before succeeding we fail at least
one and get to know what our mistakes were so, that we won't repeat it. I aimed to have to be completely
focused to my studies during the college years so that it would help me making a better future for me. With
such a strong sense of purpose, how could I fail?

FORM 3. STUDY PLAN
Language Study o Study plans to improve foreign languages(Korean, English, etc.) required for taking a
Plan degree course BEFORE and AFTER you come to Korea.

Upon arriving in Korea i will dedicate my first year in learning the Korean language and culture. I will spend my
winter vacations in participating in different cultural activities and community work while travelling around
country. Language is one of every human's ability to communicate to other human to make a conversation and
talking which have a purpose.
On the other hand language is a culture in every country which describes the characteristics of the country from
which we can see uniqueness. Although before coming to Korea, I've always been interested in foreign
languages, especially in Korean culture and language. It was quite difficult to study a foreign language without
any appropriate environment, because there is no one to communicate to. Basic Korean language i have learnt is
from online sites such as Korean101.com, TalkToMeInKorean.com and etc. Aside from these sites, I picked up a
lot from watching Korean shows, dramas and listening to Korean songs. It was entertaining, fun and educational
too. These helped me a lot in learning the basic Korean.
Furthermore i will put into practice all the learning I will have during my language training period. I will follow
Korean language classes and sharpen my Korean language ability. I will try to always attend my language
training classes which will expand my knowledge about the structure of Korean grammar and improve my
vocabulary. Learning more about Korean manners in communication. I will make sure to spend all my time in
learning Korean vocabularies as it is needed for my academic year preparation. And also getting more Korean
friends will eventually allow me to become a proficient speaker. Well I aim to watch Korean dramas without
subtitles.
My goal is to get TOPIK level 3 or higher level within the language training year. After acquiring my topic score
I will start to prepare for my academic year by pre reading the course materials while adjusting myself for a
more academic professional environment.

Goal of study &

o Goal of study and detailed study plan
Study Plan

My educational objective is to attain a bachelor's degree in architectural engineering and to have an in depth
knowledge of the Korean culture. I love to make structural drawings ever since I was a child. Moreover it is my
passion to be known as best architect like Philip Johnson or Leoh Ming Pei. I will ensure to gain in depth
knowledge related to architecture.
In year one, starting from the fundamentals of architecture, including graphic communication and applied
physics. Over the following four years, learning how to apply the knowledge to real world situations. I will make
sure to be a part in design workshops and design studios, to develop my practical skills and build a unique
portfolio of work from day one. I will practically hand on learning combined with an in depth understanding of
the important historical and managerial aspects involved in architecture, allowing me to become the in demand
architects of the future.
As I enter the academic year I will put all my efforts into studying and spending most of my time reading the
thesis in library. Being a person who is striving to know more, I will try my best to acquire knowledge from any
of the opportunities that I will get a chance to have. I will make sure to participate in different conferences,
trainings, seminars and comprehensive lectures and doing structural design and practical together with the
professors.
I will make sure to pass all the academic courses with a GPA maintained to 3.5 over 4. Through my academic
years I plan to team up with my fellow mates to practically evaluate new ideas. As a student of the department of
Architecture Engineering, I look forward to being an active participant and a willing student ready to learn from
the diverse experiences present in the classroom and I will always be active in my university.
Moreover I will always take all the new learned things as an opportunity and will devote my time in increasing
my expertise in architectural designing both practically and theoretically. Lastly when I will be awarded with
this scholarship I will contribute my innovative ideas and knowledge to the development of research at my
university and the society by implementing my problem solving skills and expertise into practice. I will do my
best to be an asset to the university and be beneficiary to it.
Future Plan
o Future plan in Korea or another country after study in Korea
after Study

After completion of my undergraduate degree, if given an opportunity I plan to apply for master’s degree in
Korea or The United States. This will further enhance my knowledge in this field. If possible I would like to be
working part time in an architect company in Korea like JMY and TRU architects. This work experience will
help me complementing my studies and so that I would be able to apply the knowledge acquired in this program
contributing with the perspectives I have about Architectural Engineering in Korean society's perspective as well
with this I can start earning income and start my professional career in the field of architect. Furthermore I
believe that this opportunity will open many and bigger opportunities. After gaining enough experience and
expertise in Korea. I planned to do researches on the ancient buildings across the world while travelling to
different countries, working in different architect companies. Understanding the structural designs of ancient
buildings that will help me in innovating new good and creative ideas. Moreover I planned to hopefully start my
own architect company in my country and impart all the knowledge I gained through my working experiences
abroad accordingly. I will also start a project that which will aim to help my country both economically and
financially. I want to impart and bring all the learning I had in my experiences in Korea that will help bring a
good connection between the two countries. I strongly believe that architecture can help me with this vision that
I have in creating a wonderful world with more beautiful buildings.
