The IL check is a thorough inspection in which all teams in charge of the tasks assigned to them
disassemble the entire airplane. From top to bottom, all of the cabins are being inspected. Each
component of the cabin is being thoroughly inspected. The inspection should be clean, and if there is
something that is not necessary to the cabin, it should be removed. If there is something that is close to
wearing out parts or a damaged part or component in the cabin, it should be repaired, or if it is not
repairable, it should be replaced. This is also referred to as an Intermediate Layover.
What types of inspection are used during the maintenance and repair works?
They use a visual inspection to observe the physical appearance of parts to determine if they
need to be repaired if it appears that parts are not necessary on a standard appearance, or if it does not
appear necessary looking the way it was previously. This check or inspection is performed from the
inside or interior parts to the outside or exterior parts to determine if there is damage and to take
immediate action.
Shia, who is in charge of checking screws and cleaning, stated that cleaning all of the
components is less expensive than replacing them all. She used to clean each screw and all the metallic
components in the cabin and test them to ensure they were still functional.
