Answer of Lifeboat Dilemma
The following persons that I will save:

 Pregnant woman
 13 year twins
 Veteran surgeon
 Lifeguard
 Senior citizen or university professor

The reason for saving all these person is that firstly, I will follow the women and children
first rule. It says that in case of emergency, women and children should be saved first. So, I
will follow that rule and saved pregnant woman and 13 year twins. I will keep both of these
twins together because I cannot make them separate. I will choose pregnant woman because
she has to give birth to a child who would have to come in this world.

It is a good reason to choose the veteran surgeon because surgeon is a lifesaving person. He
has to save so many lives through his skills and profession. So it would be beneficial to save
the veteran surgeon. And lifeguard will also be chosen due to his skill. He could save so
many lives.

But there is clash between senior citizen and university professor. Because it is honor to save
the senior citizen. But there is possibility that he could die in coming few years so it could be
wasteful to save him. Saving the university professor will be a great beneficial because he can
produce so many brilliant students due to his skills. But I will consider saving to senior
citizen.

So the person left behind are newly married couple, the captain of the ship, and the teacher
will die. Because the captain goes down as his ship sinks so he has to die with his ship.
