Types of Operating System
Operating System – is a software program that enables the computer hardware to communicate and operate with the
computer software.
2. Android operating system is a mobile operating system that was developed by Google (GOOGL) to be
primarily used for touchscreen devices, cell phones, and tablets.
3. Mac OS is the computer operating system for Apple Computer's MacIntosh line of personal computers and
workstations.
4. Google Chrome OS is an open source lightweight operating system (OS). It uses one-sixtieth as much hard drive
space as Windows 7 and is intended for netbooks or tablet PCs that access Web-based applications and stored data from
remote servers.
5. Microsoft Windows, also called Windows and Windows OS, computer operating system (OS) developed
by Microsoft Corporation to run personal computers (PCs).
6. Ubuntu is an open source Debian-based Linux distribution. Ubuntu is considered a good distribution for beginners.
7. Today, Red Hat Enterprise Linux supports and powers software and technologies for automation, cloud,
containers, middleware, storage, application development, microservices, virtualization, management, and more.
8. It is the primary operating system for Apple's Mac computers. Within the market of desktop, laptop and home
computers, and by web usage, it is the second most widely used desktop OS, after Microsoft Windows.
