Subject- Application seeking revocation of current fee structure pertaining to Self-finance courses and
publishing a new fee structure of the same by deletion of fee amount of the services which are
not availed by students & provide a mechanism to submit fees by way of installments to the
students enrolled in Self-financed B.A.LLB(Hons.) batch in Faculty of law.

Dear sir,

This is to bring in your kind notice that Faculty of law, Jamia Millia Islamia offers variety of courses, one
of which is undergraduate course called B.A. LLB(Hons.) This course is further divided in two parts
Regular and self-finance batches. The sole difference between these batches are the fees charged i.e.
self-finance batch is charged four times to the tune of amount paid by Regular batch. The students of
these undergraduate course of faculty of law of self-finance batch are in utter dismay and hereby call
upon you to desist from charging the fees of the services which are not being availed by the students.
The services which will not be availed by the students in the present semester are as follows :-

1. Medical/Dental/Physiotherapy -Rs.300
2. Identity Card -Rs.100
3. Syllabus -Rs.100
4. Garden fee -Rs. 50
5. Library Fee -Rs. 300
6. Games & Sports -Rs. 400
7. Subject Association -Rs. 150
8. Students Aid fund -Rs. 100
9. University Magazine -Rs. 50
10. Cultural activities -Rs. 150
11. Library Caution Money -Rs. 500
12. Development Fund -Rs. 1200
13. IT development Fund -Rs. 500
14. Canteen Establishment -Rs 50
15. Study material -Rs. 1500
16. Practical Training & Court Visit -Rs. 4000
17. NSS -Rs. 50
18. Foundation Day Celebration -Rs. 200
19. Faculty Magazine -Rs. 200
20. Jamia Radio fee -Rs 50
21. University Counsel & Guidance -Rs 50
Total - = Rs. 9,800
The abovementioned fees are being charged without any prudence and moreover such services will not
be availed by any student in the current semester due to the shutdown of the educational institutions.
The circular no. BCI:D: 314 :2020 (LE) of the Bar council of India dated 27.07.2020 has also been sent to
all centers of legal education which advises the university to be considerate and compassionate to the
hardships being faced by students and also to adjust the savings by universities taking into account
savings of electricity and maintenance of infrastructure.

The students have also invested in good desktop or laptop and increased the data packages which
incurred a parallel cost in availing online classes and on the other hand parents have faced major pay
cuts and lost employment.

Thus, we the students of the self-finance batch of faculty of law demand

(a) Concession in tuition fees

(b) waiving off of aforementioned fees from 1 to 21 as the services of the same is not being availed.

(c) Scheme for fee submission by way of Installments.
