from Vice Chancellor
Greetings !

It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the ICFAI Foundation for Higher
Education (IFHE) declared as a Deemed-to-be University established under section
3 of the UGC Act, 1956.
IFHE is a premier educational institution in Telangana State which is accredited
by NAAC with ‘A+’ grade. It is dedicated to the cause of teaching and research
of global standards. IFHE offers programs in Management, Science & Technology,
Engineering, Architecture, Law and Economics at undergraduate, postgraduate
and doctoral levels. The students are from all parts of India. In fact, there is a mini
India on the campus. The University has a student strength of about 6,000 and a
faculty strength of over 250.
We envision to develop a new cadre of professionals who will not only command
high level of domain proficiency but also have the ability to integrate activities for
developing scientific and technological solutions and work standards. It has evolved
a comprehensive student centric learning approach consisting of several stages,
designed to add significant value to the learner’s understanding in an integrated
manner, covering relevant knowledge, practical skills and positive attitudes.

Greetings!
Legal education plays a significant role in promoting social justice and in carving
out next generation lawyers. Every legal professional has multi-dimensional facets
in the society as a policy maker, business advisor, negotiator, litigation professional,
mediator and law professional. Horizons of legal education has spread with limitless
boundaries warranting continuous learning. In the present era of information,
knowledge capitalism, economic liberalization and globalization, the legal profession
has acquired importance and relevance to resolve and provide solutions for business
and governance complexities.
The ICFAI Law School, Hyderabad a constituent of ICFAI Foundation for Higher
Education, since its inception has an agenda of imparting quality legal education
and shape the legal professionals with excellence to cater to the needs of various
constituents of the society.The ICFAI Law School has taken utmost care in designing
the curriculum and evaluation components to keep pace with the fast-changing times
and demands of the industry and profession.

Founder’s Profile
Mr. N. J. Yasaswy (1950-2011), founder of the ICFAI Group of educational institutions and a pioneer in promoting
higher education in the private sector had a brilliant academic career: B.Com (Andhra University 1969 – First
Rank), CA Inter (May 1971 – First Rank), CA Final (May 1973 – First Rank), ICWA Inter (July 1970 – First
Rank) and ICWA Final (July 1972 – First Rank). He was the recipient of the Basu Foundation Award for the Best
Student of the Year from both – The Institute of Cost and Works Accountants of India (in 1972) and The Institute
of Chartered Accountants of India (in 1973).
During 1974-1980, Mr. Yasaswy was associated with the Administrative Staff College of India as a Faculty
Member. In 1981, he started his consultancy firm, Yasaswy Management Association (P) Limited. Hyderabad.
Mr. Yasaswy was appointed by the Government of Andhra Pradesh as Chairman, Andhra Pradesh State Trading
Corporation (1985–88), and Vice-Chairman, Public Enterprises Management Board (1986–88). He was a
visiting faculty member at the Indian Institute of Management-Ahmedabad (1986-88) and was nominated as
a Member on the SEBI Committee on Accounting Standards. He was a member of the Board of Directors of the
Association of Certified International Investment Analysts (ACIIA), Switzerland. He authored several books on
finance and investments.
Mr. Yasaswy set up the ICFAI as a single institute in 1985 without governmental sops or institutional funding, in
an era where government support was the norm. He chose to spend all his energy on the fledgling institution which
N J Yasaswy over the years grew to become a monument to what ambition can deliver. He was instrumental in building several
(1950-2011) business schools and universities in the developing states of India, particularly in the North-East region. He stood
for professional management, excellence in the quality of education offered in the ICFAI institutions, and absolute
discipline.
He was charismatic, a great teacher, an institution builder, a visionary and a genius who was years ahead of his time.
His vision will continue to guide ICFAI forever.

Campus: The campus at Hyderabad is a 92 acres lush green campus with built-up area

The BBA-LLB (Hons.) Program
The ICFAI Law School, offers 5 year Integrated BBA-LLB (Hons.) Program. The students will get an in-depth knowledge in law along
with a detailed understanding of various management functions. The Program consists of 56 courses in law and management, 6 law
electives and 8 law Honors courses. There are 5 legal internships, one at the end of each year.

Eligibility: Pass in Class XII or equivalent with an aggregate of 50% and above marks in single attempt (any discipline) in English
medium. Class XII (or equivalent) students who appeared for their final examinations before July 01, 2021 and awaiting results are
also eligible to apply.
• Should have qualified in ILSAT 2021 conducted by ICFAI Law School, Hyderabad
Age: Age should not be more than 21 years as on the date of admission. However, the changes if any made to age limitation by
the Bar Council of India from time to time will be followed.

The BA-LLB (Hons.) Program

The ICFAI Law School offer 5 year Integrated BA-LLB


(Hons.) Program. Students apart from getting enriched
with law subjects are also exposed to various Arts
disciplines. The Program consists of 56 courses in law
and arts, 6 law electives and 8 law Honors courses.
There are 5 legal internships, one at the end of each
year.
Eligibility:
• Pass in Class XII or equivalent with an aggregate
of 50% and above marks in single attempt (any
discipline) in English medium. Class XII (or

The Center of Postgraduate Legal Studies
The ICFAI Law School has launched the ‘Centre of Postgraduate Legal Studies’ with an objective of offering one year full
time LLM programs to facilitate law graduates to pursue LLM and Research in ICFAI Law School.
The Center of Postgraduate Legal Studies, offers one year LLM Programs in semester mode in accordance with the
guidelines of UGC. The program helps in enhancing the knowledge base of the students in academics, professional
understanding and readiness to face the challenges of the corporate world.

Commercial Laws
The program is a blend of theoretical and practical
learning, provides wider horizons of corporate and
commercial laws. Students joining the program shall have

The Program is a practice oriented one which provides
inputs in the area of taxation. The students joining the

The Ph.D. Program
(Full-time & Part-time)

The ICFAI Law School offers both full time and part time research program
(Ph.D) in Law.
Full Time Ph.D. Program: Candidates registered for full time research shall work
and conduct research on a full time basis under a recognized research supervisor. The
duration of Ph.D. course for a full time research scholar is four (4) years from the date
of admission. Full time Ph.D. scholars will be provided with hostel accommodation as
per the terms of the University.
Part Time Ph.D. Program: Candidates registered as part time research scholars shall
work and conduct research for four (4) years under a recognized supervisor. Candidates
seeking admission as part time research scholars have to submit no objection certificate
from the employer to pursue Ph.D. Course and also during summer term for attending
classes of Ph.D. course work conducted in two spells in the first two years of the program.

Eligibility
• A candidate is eligible for admission into Ph.D. program both full time/part time if
he/she obtained not less than 55% marks at the Post Graduate Degree in Law in
regular study mode from a recognized University.
The following candidates who satisfy the eligibility criteria are eligible for admission into
part time Ph.D. Program:
• Regular teachers working in University Law Colleges or affiliated Law Colleges with
a minimum of three years continuous teaching experience.
• Practicing Advocates with a minimum of 5 years professional experience.
• Judicial Officers with a minimum of 5 years experience. Retired Judicial Officers are
also eligible to pursue Ph.D. Program in Law.
• Any Gazetted Officer with a minimum of 8 years of administrative experience.
• Any Executive with a minimum of 10 years of administrative experience in any
recognized Law Firm/ Tax Consultants/ Public or Private Limited Company/ Company
Secretaries/ LLP.

Ph.D. Eligibility Test: Admission into Ph.D. full time/ part time program
in Law shall be through Ph.D. eligibility test followed by Ph.D. admission interview. All
the candidates who satisfy the eligibility criteria shall appear for the Ph.D. eligibility test.
The candidates who are qualified in UGC/ JRF examination/NET/SLET are exempted
from appearing Ph.D. eligibility test.

Pattern of Ph.D. Eligibility Test: The eligibility test is of


objective type with multiple choice questions covering the subjects of Constitutional
Law, Indian Penal Code, Law of Torts, Corporate Law, Labour Law and Jurisprudence.
Syllabus for eligibility test on the above subjects will be given along with the application
form. Duration of the test is of 2 hours. The minimum marks for qualifying the Ph.D.
eligibility test shall be 50%.

Ph.D. Admission Interview: Candidates who have qualified in


the Ph.D. eligibility test shall be called for Ph.D. Admission Interview. After the Ph.D.
Admission Interview the list of eligible candidates for registration for full time and part
time Ph.D. program will be finalized.

The ICFAI Law School has student centric approach in

conducted at following test centres in India. The applicants are not required to take the test. ILSAT 2021 is a self-directed

Merit Scholarships

The ICFAI Law School, IFHE offers Merit Scholarships based on the percentage of marks in Class XII or
equivalent and semester-wise performance for BBA-LLB (Hons) and BA-LLB (Hons) Programs.

A. Merit Scholarships based on past academic record: Percentage achieved in qualifying examination
(Class XII or its equivalent). Scholarship will continue semester after semester only on maintaining the
minimum 6.0 GPA in the previous semester. The details are presented in the following table.

Bank Loans: Several public and private sector banks provide educational loans to students.Applicants seeking

Moot Court Society:
Moot Court Society is a spinal cord of clinical education

strata in providing quicker justice to the public in need. Considering the above fact the ICFAI Law School has initiated an
ADR club being operated by the students under the guidance of a senior faculty to instill soft and hard skills. The ADR
club promotes training in the fastest resolution methods in place of litigation and embodies various initiatives such as
Client Counselling, Arbitration, Mediation, Negotiation skills and Online Dispute Resolution methods, which helps the
