can or should be addressed and the relationship between the specifics of these
problems and larger social and ethical issues.

work to nurture a culture of respect and care towards all members of the
community among us and to develop a community of us to be more responsible,

Therefore, we have chosen to join the Zoo Negara Volunteer Programme.
As a volunteer, we need to be willing to help the zoo in any appropriate tasks that
assigned to us throughout the 8 hours.

Zoo Voluntary Day
It was a fine cool morning. We gather in the campus bus stop at seven
o’clock. The bus had already come there. The deputy commander counted the
members. The food and beverage team are distribute the breakfast to us while
waiting for the departure.

At half past seven, we got into the bus and left for Zoo Negara. At around
nine, we arrived at Zoo Negara Malaysia. Then, we are queue up as five people
in a group to get the tickets and waiting for further instructions from the instructor
of the zoo.
Our group was assigned into the area of bird aviary. We were been brought
into the small house at that area. At first, my task was help to sweep the floor and
mop the floor. After I done, they asked me to help them wash the floor of the
washroom. Then, our group also help them to provide the food for the birds as
we help to tear the bread into a small pieces. At twelve o’clock, we were been
given two hours and half for the lunch and rest. In that time, we are also allowed
to visit the zoo.

We go back for works at two thirty. Wen Qi and I was help to pull the
weeds and throw the weeds and the branches. After that, we help to tidy up the
document and files in the office of that house.
Lastly, we end our volunteer programme at four thirty. Then, we waiting
for the bus and go back to the campus.
Self-Reflection
First of all, I am very appreciate to this module and our lecturer, Ms. Tay
for giving us this opportunity to contribute to the society.
This is my first time joining this kind of volunteer programme. For me, this
is a great learning experience and this experience is really memorisable. Being a
volunteer is all about contributions, so I have a better understanding of the value
of serving others throughout this programme.
The event is ended in a glimpse of eye, so I am aware about the importance
of the teamwork because it is impossible to make the event success without a
great volunteering spirit from all my team members. It’s a very valuable
contribution.
Last but not least, I am glad to be part of the team to contribute to Zoo
Negara Malaysia as we have the chance to learn and gain something much more
precious than the knowledge that we gained from book.
