1.Define a constitution.

Constitution- Refers to “that body of rules and maxims in accordance with which the
powers of sovereignty are habitually exercise.
Constitution of the Philippines may be defined as that written instrument by which the
fundamental powers of the government are establish limited, and defined and by which
these powers are distributed among the several departments or branches for their safe
and usefulness exercise for the benefit of the people.

2.Who are citizens of the Philippines?

Answer : Section I of the Philippine constitution provides that the following are the
citizens of the Philippines:
Those who are citizens of the Philippines at the time of the adoption of this
Constitution;
Those whose father or mothers are citizens of the Philippines;
Those born before January 17, 1973, of Filipino mothers, who elect Philippine
Citizenship upon reaching the age of majority; and
Those who are naturalized in accordance with law.

3.If the Philippine constitution mandates the bill of rights of the Filipino people, what is
also our reciprocal obligation to the state?

Answer : Reciprocal laws are statutes of one state that give rights and privileges to the citizens of
another state if that state extends similar privileges to the citizens of the first state.Our only
obligation is to obey the laws as it stated in the Constitution. The “State” is the people. A
democracy is a government of the people, by the people and for the people. The problem with
the present administration is that they consider themselves different from the people who put
them in office and are gungho to change the very laws that got them elected into office. They
think that the people are obligated to follow them rather than the other way around.

4.What are the different citizenship values contained in the Preamble of Philippine
Constitution?

Answer : By living according to good citizenship values which we can derive from the preamble of the
Constitution - Faith in God, Unity, Patriotism, Work, Respect for Life, Respect for Law and Government,
Truth, Justice, Freedom, Love, Equality, Peace, Promotion of the Common Good, Concern for the Family
and Future Generations, ...
