Crocodile or Gator? Write / Draw your answer below the selection.
Crocodile or Gator?
Crocodiles and alligators are alike in many ways. They look almost the same.
They have short legs, long tails, and webbed feet. Their bodies are the same shape.
They are good swimmers. Alligators and crocodiles both hunt at night.
When you look closely, you can see differences between them. Alligators have
darker skins than crocodiles. When a crocodile’s mouth is closed, two lower teeth
stick out. An alligator’s teeth don’t show when its mouth is shut. Another difference is
where they live. Alligators live in fresh water. Most crocodiles live in salt water. Both
look like they might be smiling. But don’t get too close!
