1. Give at least three (3) expectations that community has for teachers.

- According to Article III Section I, a teacher shall serve as a facilitator of

learning and the development of the youth. Therefore, shall render the best

service by providing an environment conducive for such learning and growth.

- Section II explains that a teacher shall be involved in community movements

for moral, social, economic, and civic betterment. Teachers should take

initiative on things which he think will be right for the community, he should

lead the community to be active in dealing with issues affecting the social

welfare.

- Section III states that a teacher shall behave with honor and dignity at all

times and refrain from activities that isn’t humane. A teacher should be a role

model to the community which holds good moral and right conduct.

2. How should a professional teacher regard indigenous people's culture?

- As professional teacher, we should observe and understand their own cultural

norms, their ideas and their traditions. We should be openly engaged in a

diverse community and appreciate every difference that we encounter. We

should listen to them and commit to educating ourselves and accepting and

being a part of a change to be more inclusive.

3. Find an article where teachers' professionalism or teachers' ethics were

became an issue. Discuss the article.

- Teachers are at the center of the educational process and uniquely in a

position of trust and influence. Although there is much debate across the

country about whether or not a teacher’s behavior in a public place, away

from school property or school activities, should be considered under the

Code of Ethics for Professional Teachers, teachers can find themselves in a

situation where public perception and opinion can lead to a disruption in the

educational process. One scenario is when a teacher is drinking in a public

venue or in a place where he is employed with his students which he just

also saw there. This may be an issue because other students, parents or the

community might misinterpret why he is with his students on a public place.

Although the teacher did not invite the students to the place, it is his

responsibility to put an end to the situation and ensure that the students arrive

home safely. As a Professional Teacher with Honor and Dignity according to

Article III Section III, we should avoid drinking in public places to avoid the

possibility of meeting up with our students or their families.
