SUBJECT OBJECTIVES
1. To provide the knowledge on loads acting on structures,
the behavior of members and parts of reinforced concrete
(RC) structures.

2. To provide the knowledge on the conceptual principles


of design, calculation methods and detailing of members
and parts of RC structures such as slabs, frames, footings.

3. To present and recommend some methods of analysis,


calculation and detailing of special members and parts of
RC structures such as beam-column connections, slab-
column connections.

 Choose material properties of concrete and reinforced steel

 Estimate dimension of the cross-section of slab or beams

 Determine the calculation diagram, effective span lengths

 Determine ULS loads (1.35Gk , 1.5Qk) ; SLS loads (Gk , y2Qk)

 Calculate design forces (M, V) using analysis method with


various loading combination and sketch the force envelopes

 Design section for moment and shear: MEd  As ; VEd  Asw , sw

 Check deflection and cracking width: dmax  L/250 ; wk  0,3mm
