Comparison in the mean achievement of graduate students from three sections.
Therefore, among the three sections tested, it is only pair B & C which showed
significant result. Hence, the existing mean achievement of graduate students from
section B test results is significantly different from the existing mean achievement of
graduate students from section C test results
2. The table shows the performance scores of first and third level students under
different educational conditions. The first level students were administered a standard
achievement test for first level and the third level students an instrument for the third
grade. Thus, one would expect no difference between the overall mean performance of
first level and the overall mean performance of third level students. Using the two-factor
analysis of variance, analyze the data presented by the table at .05 level of significance.

𝐵𝑒𝑡𝑤𝑒𝑒𝑛 𝐶𝑜𝑙𝑢𝑚𝑛𝑠: [(𝑐−1), 𝑘 (𝑛−1), 𝛼]
𝐵𝑒𝑡𝑤𝑒𝑒𝑛 𝑅𝑜𝑤𝑠: [(𝑟−1), 𝑘 (𝑛−1), 𝛼]
𝐼𝑛𝑡𝑒𝑟𝑎𝑐𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛: [(𝑐−1)(𝑟−1), 𝑘 (𝑛−1), 𝛼]
Between Columns:
Since 𝐹 𝑐𝑜𝑚𝑝𝑢𝑡𝑒𝑑 = 3.94 𝑖𝑠 greater 𝑡ℎ𝑎𝑛 [2, 36, .05] = 3.23; Reject Ho.
Between Rows:
Since 𝐹 𝑐𝑜𝑚𝑝𝑢𝑡𝑒𝑑 = 4.79 𝑖𝑠 greater 𝑡ℎ𝑎𝑛 [1, 36, .05] = 4.08; Reject Ho.
Ha: The students in 1st & 3rd grade expect difference between the overall
mean performance is significant at .05 level.
Interaction Effects:
Since 𝐹 𝑐𝑜𝑚𝑝𝑢𝑡𝑒𝑑 = 2.62 𝑖𝑠 less 𝑡ℎ𝑎𝑛 [2, 36, .05] = 3.23; Accept Ho.
Hence, there is no difference between the overall mean performance of first level and
the overall mean performance of third level students.
