The Charles Darwin Foundation runs a Galapagos Tortoise re-introduction


program, hatching and raising tortoises in captivity and then releasing them into the wild. This has
been shown to help the dwindling populations recover from the brink of extinction.
Once tortoises are raised, they are placed back into the wild. However, they must be
placed in the proper habitat if they are going to survive. Using evidence from two different
