TOPIC: Origin and Structure of the Earth (Earth Subsystems)


MELCS: Explain that Earth consists of four subsystems, across whose boundaries
matter and energy flow (S11/12ES-Ia-e4)

Activity 1
Our Amazing Earth

Procedure:

1. Using a sharp pair of scissors, cut the dotted circles and lines in the diagram
on the next page (Part A and B).
2. Color the diagram on Part A (blue for water; green for plants/trees and brown
for land)
3. On Part B, draw anything that would represent/describe each Earth’s
subsystem. You may color your drawing to make it appealing.
NOTE: Make sure that your drawing corresponds to the correct Earth’s
subsystem.
On the backside of the Part A, write 2-3 sentences that would best describe
each Earth’s subsystem.
NOTE: Make sure that your drawing corresponds to the correct Earth’s
subsystem.
4. Put a small amount of glue or paste at the center of the circle to glue
together the Part A and Part B.
NOTE: Make sure that your drawing corresponds to the correct Earth’s
subsystem.
5. Attach your output on the rubric and DO NOT FORGET TO WRITE YOUR
COMPLETE NAME ( Last Name, First Name, M.I.) and your year level before
you submit it.
