What is PIE Model?

P=PASSION.
P To deliver a fun and happy class, we need to showcase
200% passion, not just passion. A trial lesson tutor
with 200% passion is more likely to engage students in
a fun and happy classroom. A 200% passionate tutor is
essential to light up the interest of beginner-level
students.

I=INTERACTION.

About trial classes
Trial classes are the first experience kids will have with Acadsoc.

The goal of a trial class is to have the student enjoy your class.

So we need to create a happy and unforgettable moment for

students, but what should we do?

some of them in your classes, just remember our “PIE” Model.

ONE: The magic ice cream trick
Why?
Most kids love and are excited about ice cream,
candies, chocolate, cake, etc. it's in their nature.
So, we can use them as a way to brighten the class
atmosphere and spark their learning interest.
Important Notice
1. Remember the goal is to insert one "unforgettable
and happy moment" in the class. The same principle
also applies to other food, like cookies or chocolates.
2. Exaggerated, passionate and dramatic TPR and
facial expression are essential for engaging the
student in the class.

How?

Step 1: Prepare pictures or a PPT of ice creams before

the class.

Step 2: Show student pictures or the PPT and say “wow!

Ice cream!”

Step 3: Ask the St “ do you like ice cream? ” and elicit

answers from the St.

Step 4: Keep screenshots of both and lead student to

“eat” the ice cream together.

Why? Important Notice

Children have very short attention span, so we need to
diversify our activities regularly. We can use ManyCam
special effects to grab student's attention and bring out
more smiles from the student in a few seconds.
1. You can use it as a warm-up activity, or when you notice
student is not listening or when teaching related words,
such as fruits, animals and so on. Even if you can't use
special effects, you can also do a funny face or act silly or
use the props to achieve the same goal.

minutes and remember our PIE recipe.
