4Ga Re-tie Pipe

Sec 1 Adjustment Standard

1-1 Clamp Angle & Position
1. Align pipe in horizontal position and loosen Contact with gauge
bolt A. - Pipe bottom surface
2. Use an L shaped gauge to attach the clamp (2 locations)
and pipe so they are perpendicular. - Clamp cover side
surface
3. Remove the clearer bracket and loosen bolt B. (1 location)
4. Place the gauge on the clearer bracket
attachment machined surface and adjust
so that the cap bottom end tip distance is
between 112.7-113.7 mm.

When the Retie Pipe is Positioned on the Bottom
(Comes into contact with the home position
stopper) Bolt A

1. Loosen bolt C, and adjust A as indicated in the

figure so that the distance between the clamp
cover and the opener cam on the lower side
is always less than 1 mm (so that there is no
contact between them during operation and A
the clamp assembly opens).
2. Adjust B as indicated in the figure so that the
distance between the clamp cover and the pipe
is always between 10 and 14 mm.
* This adjustment is to ensure that no unnecessary
force is applied to the clamp cover.

When the Retie Pipe is Positioned on the Top Bolt B
1. Move the pipe manually so that the attachment
side of the clearer is in line (vertically) with the
edge of the clamp cover.
0.8 mm or less
2. Loosen bolt B, and adjust C as indicated in the C
figure so that the distance between the clamp
cover and the opener cam on the upper side
is always less than 0.8 mm (so that there is no
contact between them during operation and
the clamp assembly opens).

3. Move the straight section of the opener cam so Match their positions so that the vertical
lines for each overlap
that it overlaps with the protruding section of
the clamp cover (D).

* Ensure that the clamp cover does not come into
contact with the upper end stopper. D 4

4. Adjust the opener cam (location E indicated

in the figure) so that the clearance in front of
the mouthpiece (between the front end of the
mouthpiece and the disc) is always between 5
and 9 mm.
Make sure that
* This adjustment is to ensure that no unnecessary
there is no contact 5 to 9 mm
force is applied to the clamp cover.

If the clamp cover and the opener cam come into contact with each other, any unnecessary
or excess force applied to the clamp cover can cause damage to parts, opening malfunction
or pipe malfunction. On the other hand, if the gap is too big, the opening operation may not
perform correctly and similarly, cause damage to parts or opening malfunction.

1-3 Spandex Specification

After adjusting the clamp and opener cam, check to
Bolt A
make sure that they do not come into contact with each
other at the temporary stop position during the splicing
operation.
If they do come into contact with each other, loosen
bolt A and adjust the bracket position so that they do
not touch. Thereafter, ensure that the opener cam
space is appropriate.

Always replace the opener cam with

a short type cam.
Make sure that there is
no contact

2-1 Mounting the Opener Cam
If the parts indicated in the figure are worn causing a Bolt A
failure or problem, replace the worn part or parts with a
new one. 1/2
Sec

* The tightening torque for bolts A and B is between

1.1 and 1.4 N•m.

Apply locking adhesive to bolts A and Bolt B

B on the opener cam when mounting.

2-2 Tightening the Timing Belt

Turn and adjust the motor.

Ensure that the belt is not too slack

or too taut. (Recommended tension:
30.2 – 40.6 N)
Malfunctions could occur if the
tension is out of the recommended
range.

Turn the motor

2-3 Shaft & Boss Cleaning

If any cotton fly is clogging the shaft or boss, it can
obstruct operation.
Raise the pipe so it is horizontal while the unit
operation switch is pulled. If the pipe does not lower
when a 600 g weight is hung from the clamp assembly,
then disassemble and clean.

Frequency Guideline
Remove any cotton fly that is clogged
Every 6 months
(Only winding units noted above)

Set the sheet (felt) when cleaning so that it does not break apart.
