Garment merchandiser is like a bridge between buyer and industry. Actually, he is the
main responsible person to make the product in timely. A merchandiser has to
communicate not only will the buyers but also with the others such as suppliers,

most important task for all the apparel merchandisers. Here, samples have to be
developed according to buyer’s instruction. After confirmation of a garment export
order, a garment merchandiser has to book and in-house all kinds of trimming and
accessories according to buyer’s instruction. A garment merchandisers must have to
make a good relationship with the garment production. This also creates a great impact
on shipping the product timely: Giving shipping instructions and following shipment is

To become a fashion designer you usually need some relevant education

practical knowledge to work in the fashion industry. Beside that, to be successful in the

Secondly, you have to master drawing skills. It mean that you can sketch your ideas onto
paper to start the designing. More over, sewing skill is also necessary, it help you
actualize the garment you design. In addition, skills such as teamwork, presentation skill,
computer skill and good comand of English and so on are essential (ơ sen trô) to help you
become a successful fashion designer. After all, the reward for you is choosing the styles

4. Talk about the working condition in your company.
Today, I will talk about the work condition in our company. About the lighting, we
always provide sunlights which is main source but sometime, artificial light also use.
Secondly, about the posture, all worker sit in the correct posture, the chairs are too hight
have backrest and footrest. The leg movement is large enough for worker. Thirdly, about
the personal working space, we always keep it clean and should be large enough for leg
movement, especsially ơ pếc sơ li, all workers dosen’t work too closely each other and
they can move freely. Next, about the table size, we sure that the table is large enough to
put something in it such as thread, button, material and other small tools. Our company is
fully equipped with small boxes to store accessories at the work place of each other.

5. Talk about some particular problem related to working

condition and its proposed solutions. (điều kiện làm việc và các

Nowaday, the textile indusstry is very developed, there are many sewing company
opened and the working conditions in each company are different. Our company, I see
that there are some problem affect the work process of worker. Firstly, it is backache
(back kít). This problem has 2 reasons: the worker sit in wrong posture. They sit in the
same type of the chairs without beeing provided with a seat that suit their height. The
worker have to work too long and sit in oneplace. This status, if prolonged, can lead to
health and productivity problems. I suggest that the company should provide fully chair
large enough for worker and the chairs should be had the backrest and footrest. Beside,
the company should have short breaks so the worker can relax and do their exercise.
Secondly, I see that our factory is still messy and arrange their working positions
unreasonably (un ri sừn ây bly). I would strongly recommend providing each sewing
machine and working table with a rubbish bag and the worker don’t need to work too
closely. The company need to provide some small boxes for needles, button, thread and
others tolls. That’s all!

6. Meeting
 To hold a meeting, firstly, I will welcome the participants (pa ti si pừn) of the
meeting and introduce myself. I will say like this: “Good morning and welcome to the
meeting today. For those who don’t know me, I’m Ngoc from Sales Department. Today,
we’re going to focus on the order you have made.” Secondly, I will present 3points on
my agenda like this: “I would like to start with the first one. Firstly, we provide the
order’s detail number 5000. The item is polo shirt with model TA81199 and the material
is polyester. Secondly, the price is $15 per item, if you purchase at least 6000 item, we
can discount 5% for you and all the money will be transfered via bank. I suggest that you
should purchase at least 6000 items to receive the discount. We assure that the product’s
quality is high quality and the brand’s preputation are also assure. The good will be
delivered on Jenuary 25 by door- to-door. If you want to receive the goods earlies, I could
say that it is possible. My company is working on other big orders, should not negatively
affect the product’s quality. Time’s running out and we need to draw things to a close.

7. Diferent between 2 sample

Hello, I’m Ngọc. I’m a designer of ABC company. I have received the actual
sample garment and see that there and some diferent between spec sheet and actual
sample. The overall sample looks good. But the actual sample do not have the white letter
on black label attached 1” below collar stand. The spec sheet require that the neck width
from HPS to HPS is 7” but in actual sample it is 8” . You need to take it in 7 ’’. In the
spec sheet, the pocket is in the left of garment with depth 6’’ and width 4’’ in stead of on
the right. The armhole-straight on the spec sheet is 9’’ but in the actual sample is 8’’ .
You need to let in down ¾’’. In the spec sheet, the cuff opening is 4’’ instead of 6’’.

8. Individual production report (Báo cáo sản xuất cá nhân)

Goof afternoon, I’m Ngoc. I’m a technical staff. Today, I will talk about individual
production report. The form numberb of the report is 001 and it is processed by me. On
26 January, worker A make 2 stages of the T-shirt model DHA47. They are sewing the
collar and sewing the sleeve. Worker A used the machine number 10 to sew the collar.
She start working at 8 a.m and finish at 12 am. In the stage, she has completed 200
products but have 5 products which are defective. Then, from 1p.m to 5p.m, she worked
at sewing sleeve stage in the machine number 5. During this time, she has finished 100
items and have 5 items which are defective. That’s all about my report
9. Delivery performance record (biên bản thực hiện giao hàng)
 Today, I will talk about delivery performance record. The form number of the
record is 004 and it is process by me. On 10 January, After discussing with the
customers, we have 2 orders need to delivery. They are T-shirt model NT25 and Jacket
model DH25. The orders NT25 scheduled (ske jua) for delivery on 15 January but on 18
January we just delivered the goods. So we delayed delivered 3 days. The reason is that
some worker were sick and have to take time off to work so the goods do not keep up
with the delivery schedule (ske jua). The order DH25 schedule for delivery on 25 January
but on 27 January, we just delivered it. So we delayed delivery 2 days. This sitution still
occurs (ơ cowss) due to in a dequate machine tailures for workers so the goods do not
keep up with the delivery schedule.
10. Accident record
Today, I will talk about accident record. The form number of the record is 005 and
it is processed by me. On 20 February, our company had some accidents. Firstly, worker
A in sewing group 1 was injured in her hand. While inserting the needle, by forgeting to
turn off the power so the machine was still working, she was stabbed by the needle. I
think all workers should pay attention to turn off all equipment when not working to
ensure safety. After that, worker B in pressing group was burned on hands. Because he is
a new workers so he do not have experience and due to negligence (ne gơ jin), he was
injured (in giơ). I suggest that all workers need to focus and comply with safety rules
while working.
11. Preventive maintenance record.(hồ sơ bảo trì phòng ngừa)
Good afternoon teacher, My name is Ngoc. Today, I will talk about preventive
maintenance (mên s mừn) record. The form number of the record is 123 and it is
processed by me. On 20 January, there is a problem with machine number 10. At 8 A.M,
the machine was stapping working. After that, I reported this problem, he call the
technical staff to fix this problem. The machine starts to be maintained at 8. A.M and it
worked again at 10 a.m. During maintenance, the downtime of the machine is 1.30 hous.
The technical staff said that there cause of break down is the machine has been used for a
long time and it is not regularly maintained, so the egine oil is dry the motor cannot
rorate.
12. Report of GARCO 10 VietNam (Talk to report the data and
information of a garment factory).
Good morning teacher. I’m Ngoc. I’m a sale department of GARCO. Thank you for
coming in here to learn about our company. As you known, our company, specialize (sờ
pe sồ lai) in textile and garments product. Our company consider one of the most
contributing to the largest textile and garment export turnover. There are 6000 workers
are working in our company. We have 15 factories which are locating in different
provinces in Viet Nam. Every year, the number of products are produced is relatively (re
lơ típ ly) large with the anually production capicity is 21 million pieces. GARCO 10
cooperates with many different countries around the world. The us is the country that our
company exported the most with 51%, the next is Europe with 14%, Japan with 10%,
HongKong with 7% and remaining 18% are in other countries and regions (re giừn). The
company’s anual growth rate is quite sustain (sơ ten) able. In 2018, the growth rate was
4%, 2019 was 6% and 2020 was 8%. Average growth rate increases by 2% per year.
GARCO 10’s annual turnover is high, contributing greatly to the country’s expost
revenue (re vơ niu). In 2018, the revenue was nearly 3 trillion (tri li ừn), 2019 was more
than 3 trillion and 2020 was 20 trillion. I hope in the future our company will develop
futher!
13. Prepare for a job interview.
I am going to talk about the preparation for a job interview. Firstly, you need to
analyze the job to know what’s your favorite job is, it is suitable for you and when you do
that work are you satisfied with it? Secondly, you need to reseach the company where
you will work to choose the right and best companies. Thirdly, you need to take care of
your appearance when coming to the interview such as fasmal clothes, neat hair. In
addition, you need to prepare some documents for the interview such as your resume,
referance, CV, cover letter. Next, you should think about the salary that you want to
negotiate with the employes during the interview and you should learn about the
company, list the jobs and responsibilities you have to do when working in that position
to be able to answer the employer’s question well. Finally, you need to be confident, calm
and intelligent to solve question and situations during the interview. If you prepare all of
the things. I just said above, you will have a good interview.
14. An introduction in a job interview.
I am delighted to be here today to tell you about my self. My name is Ng . I just
graduated from Ha noi University of Industry and my major is garment technology and
fasshion design. On my own strengths, I have good expertise, be able to adapt to fax
work the skills needed to serve the job but I still have weakness that are limited language
skills. In the next 5 years, I want to have a stable and suitable job for my self, then I will
go to learn more foreign languages to improve my knowledge and may be travel once a
year. I want to work at garment company in HN to be able to do the right thing I study.
As I know, your company is one of the largest garment companies are weell and the
treatment regime is also very considerate. If possible, I would like to work as a fashion
designer. I think I suitable for this position because I have experence, while I was in
school, I went to work part-time in clothes shops as a designer. I can use the design
sofeware on computers, and have knowledge of materials and colors. I am quite hard
working and friendly to every one.
