Problem/Opportunity:
 Many libraries are operated manually by a group of people. These people keep records regarding the books &
students’ borrowers, check the books manually and keep records on issued books. All these things have to be carried
out manually and if the library is very large, proper record keeping will become a major problem as manual record
keeping has never been a reliable method because people tend to forget things.

Project Type
 Library Management System Project used to lessen the work by monitoring or checking the books conditions that they
borrowed. It also track the person who borrows the book by getting there information to ensure that the book is
returned at the scheduled time or day.

Main Goal Statement

 The Library management system needs to be computerized to reduce human errors and to increase the efficiency.
The proposed Library management system in this proposal will be a computerized management system developed to
maintain all the daily work of library. Library management systems are designed to store all the information about
books and members.
 The main focus of this project is to lessen human effort and encourage efficient record keeping.

Objective(s)
Library management System maintains the record of books in the library, issue, purchasing and return process of the
books in the library. Here we are primarily concerned with management of books of library. In this project we identify
the need for computer-based Library Management Systems.
Hence this covers the following issues:
 Maintains data about the books of the library.
 Arranging data in logical order for easy maintenance.
 Collection of data about books which are issued and requirement for purchasing.
 To provide various search options to know the availability of books in the Library
 Data about books which are lost.
 Generation of various reports according to the management request i.e. Cataloguing, Searching etc.

Project Steps (agile and ilagay d2)

1. Register to gain access.
2. Search for the books/ that you desire.
3. Put time and date of how many days you wants the books to borrow.
4. Confirmation of borrowing the book/s.

Functional Team and other resources

 We need 2 person from out group to focus on the web design.
Information Technology Project Proposal

 We need a researcher for documentation.

 We will use this system to facilitate the work of our librarians.
 We plan to use Jcreator for software. It includes faster, quicker and more efficient compilers.
 We plan to use Java which is the language for programming and do not anticipate other resource needs.

Dependencies and Risks:

 This project is helpful to track all the book and library information and to rate the maximum number of books, the
visitors wished to read. The software will be able to handle all the necessary information. Overall this project of ours is
being developed to help the students as well as staff of library to maintain the library in the best way possible and also
reduce the human efforts. If there's anomalies we can find another ways on how we solve the problem.
