The documentary: Ganito Kami Muli (with ENGLISH Subs) |

Cinema One Originals shows is a great documentary. The film

“Ganito kami noon, Paano kayo ngayon?” does inspire people to
wonder the life before and be able to differentiate the life that
they have before. Just like what the Gino Santos said, the saying
“Ang hindi lumingon sa pinangalingan ay hindi makakarationg sa
paroroonan” is somehow correct. How can we even be better if we
can’t see if can’t even identify if we are doing great than life
before? It shows in the film, that the Filipino’s existence was full of
misfortunes before. It shows how our own kinds struggled to find
their own identity during the transition. The film was able to
address social issues before. Our raise are unfairly treated and
even discriminated against by the Spaniards. They also abuse
Filipino women. Even we have due process, we are already being
judged and being tortured for the crimes that they dint not even
commit. Although the Spanish authorities conduct a court
listening to those who have been accused of a crime (only in some
cases), they solely provide Spanish legal professionals to protect
those accused and even manipulated the regulation choose of
themselves, leaving the Filipinos with no different choice however
to accept and go through the crimes that they didn’t even commit.
Another thing is the lack of proper education for Filipino people.

The documentary about the film just shows that films like
this should be preserved for the future generations to see for them
to know more about what had happened before so that they can
really understand and appreciate what they have right now. It was
really hard to go through all of that. And here we are, living in a
country where we have all the privileges that we have that they
never had before. We have the freedom that we do not want to
lose and we have a system that does follow the due process before
we can be sentenced for something. However, it does not apply in
every situation. Well, you know what I mean. We should really look
back and know our history for us to know who we are, what we
are, and to appreciate what are the things we have in our lives. Life
is hard. So do not make it harder.
