writing a summary of the story.

 Introduction/Warm-Up: (Pre-Reading)

The teacher will show some short story images. Then have students volunteer to discuss their favorite
stories, characters, and what portion of the story caught their attention or drew them in. Analyze the
responses of the pupils and provide feedback. Following that, the teacher will demonstrate accurate
pronunciation of the German vocabulary used in the story that will be read aloud.

Explicit Instruction: (During Reading)

Give each pupil a copy or handout of John Galsworthy's short story "Quality," which they should read silently.
The teacher will ask them to highlight the characters, the environment, and their favorite section of the story as
they read it.

Supported Practice: (During Reading)

The film about the elements of a short narrative will be shown by the teacher. Discuss the elements of a short
narrative in further depth. List the features of each aspect, provide examples, and solicit thoughts from the stu-
dents for a lively debate.
Individual Practice: (Post-Reading)

Each student will be assigned a character by the teacher, who will then be asked to describe the character that
was not mentioned in the story.

Differentiation: (Post-Reading)

The pupils will be divided into groups by the teacher. The students will select a section of the story that they
believe is not worth reading and will have the opportunity to edit or add to it.

Assessment:

The teacher will invite the students to summarize "Quality" by John Galsworthy using the elements of the short
tale with the same group. They will be graded using the rubrics provided by the teacher.

Notes: (Time frame/Additional Remarks/Instructions/Add-ons)
