Executive summary

Birdnest Skincare by Nursyaf is a Malaysian skincare line that uses only legal products.
Birdnest Essence was founded by Mrs. Nadya Abdullah and is a halal product. This business sells
three products: BNE (Birdnest Essence), BNFR (Birdnest Facial Radiance), and BPCS (Birdnest
Propolis Collagen Soap). I participated in the line of business as a stock agent based in Kuala
Kangsar, Perak, in order to accomplish the assignment. I created and managed a Facebook page
for Birdnest Skincare by Nursyaf for over two months as part of the product's promotional
activities. Taking into consideration the COVID-19 pandemic situation, this portfolio will
highlight the knowledge gained and the difficulties endured in overcoming the unforeseen hurdles.

2.2 Name and Address of Business


Birdnest Skincare by Nursyaf is a business that specializes in skin care for the face and
body. It also contains date extract, Arabian coffee beans, mango, cucumber, vitamin C, and aloe
vera, which are all beneficial to skin health. My working station is located in No56, Persiaran
Teratai 2, Jalan Sultan Iskandar Shah, 33000, Kuala Kangsar, Perak. This BNE (Birdnest Essence),
BNFR (Birdnest Facial Radiance) BPCS (Birdnest Propolis Collagen Soap) product has been
certified by the Ministry of Health and lab test. Following the completion of the assignment, I
employed as a dropship agent for the Birdnest Essence marketing, which I created media social
accounts for advertising purposes.

2.3 Mission/ Vision


Mission:
To encourage the community in the field of marketing so that they may be capable of breaking out
through the cocoon of self-sufficiency. Apart from that, I'm committed to raise this branding to aid
the community and share information with others who suffer from hyper pigmentation and
economic skin problems.

Vision:
To make Birdnest Skincare by Nursyaf recognised throughout Malaysia by expanding this birdnest
essence product. It may also assist individuals in distress and help them thrive in business. It will
be easier for me to generate more inputs on how to do business properly to a community that is
trapped and in trouble if I use existing social media.

Customer segmentation is the process of classifying consumers into distinct groups based
on shared criteria so that organizations may effectively and efficiently relate to each group. The
term "client segment" refers to a niche market with particularly specific traits and requirements.
This one-of-a-kind strategic market concentrates just on one segment that might gain the most.
The value propositions, distribution methods, and customer interactions are all tailored to this
consumer segment's interests.

I categorize this consumer into many segments regardless of age, gender, and preferences.
It will also be easier to deal with my skincare businesses and attract my target market if I could
just determine my target market. I've also discovered my target market's requirements and wishes
so that I can provide the finest services, recommend, and promote items successfully.

My initial target market is customers who strive to establish a healthy appearance. The
reason I'm emphasizing on these parties is that I can see the potential for them to have pretty
features, since they strive to preserve their faces free from acne and pimples. Furthermore, at this
affordable cost that matches their needs, my targeted customers might buy my skincare without
hesitation.

In addition, I attach importance to customer preferences. It's because the majority of the
population demand natural look. I'll make sure to provide such a finest services and skincare
potential so that they trust my product because excellent client feedback had encouraged other.

3.3 Value Proposition

Birdnest Skincare by NurSyaf is a business that provides high quality skincare product for
the skin. It's a Malaysia product which has not been identified as having any illegal substances.
Furthermore, this company provides three different products: BNE (Birdnest Essence), BNFR
(Birdnest Facial Radiance), and BPCS (Birdnest Propolis Collagen Soap) (Birdnest Propolis
Collagen Soap). Swiftlet nests help compensate 90% of this Birdnest skincare. Furthermore, this
product also contains date extract, arabian coffee beans, cucumber, mango, vitamins, and Aloe
Vera, which can help treat skin issues such acne and pimples, as well as remove age wrinkles and
tighten the skin. Further, this birdnest skincare product may be used to heal wounds such as burns
and accidental wounds. Finally, if you buy more than two items from Birdnest Skincare by
NurSyaf, I will produce a new packaging from another agent that will be wrapped in a distinctive
container and there will be a free gift.

3.4 Channels

The Birdnest Skincare by NurSyaf products are intended to catch the attention of my
customers and prospective buyers to the realization that this birdnest skincare existing. When

developing this product and the way I engage with customers, several hurdles and reach are
frequently encountered. But, because to the many methods and strategies I've established to
promote my skincare product, I didn't keep falling. I'll explain how I interact with customers in
this segment.

Using online platforms is one of the ways I engage with customers to promote or attract
them. Because we now live in a civilized era where certain digital marketing strategies are being
much more extensively used with the intended audience is becoming increasingly higher.
Facebook and Instagram are used for the platform I developed. Both of these platforms are
extensively used social media platforms. We would engage with anyone in the world using that
same social media platform. Because all users on social media will read it, displaying my strategy
to promote the packages or solutions that I provide improves it easier and more effective for
potential customers. Facebook and Instagram are social media platforms that quickly share
information to the worldwide audience, especially youngsters.

Apart from that, face-to-face communication is really a part of my business. Interpersonal


communication with customers is more professional. It's to indicate that I was serious about the
problem or the customer selection in the way I communicated it. This strategy allowed for just a
quicker and more efficient presentation of the products being provided, which might delight them.
Face to face interaction enables me to develop and maintain relationships with customers as well
as attract potential customers to purchase Birdnest Skincare by NurSyaf product.

When people accept and admire the product, I'm delighted. It will be easier for me to target
customers with the concepts and originality that I generate. The major goal is to keep Birdnest
Skincare by NurSyaf's image and develop my business in the market.

3.5 Customer Relationships

Customer connections are an important aspect of BMC and in my business. This is because
my business allows a strong customer relationship because it will have a significant influence on

the customer's experience. Furthermore, by building a solid relationship, my business may make a
positive impression on new customers, as regular customers have provided my product a lot of
positive feedback. As an outcome, my step is to develop and provide the finest potential customer
experience.

Personal assistance, transactional relationships, and learning about the customer are the
three main types of customer relationships which my skincare business employs. To begin with,
personal assistance is a human interaction or communication relationship. My skincare business
planning to construct the relationship through face-to-face interactions, email, phone calls or
messages, or any other methods of communicating. My client will feel comfortable if there is only
one candidate to manage them from the beginning to the ending of the conversation.

Second, the transactional relationship is the type of relationship that my business utilizes,
in which customers could pay for their selected product via QR Pay or an online transfer. This
process provides my customers' safety while still makes things easier for them. This demonstrates
that a meaningful relationship is being established between my customers and my business.

Lastly, in order to build a solid customer connection, my business takes the opportunity to
study about the customers. As a result, I was able to assess or detect the attitude or reaction of our
customers to my product or service. Receiving input from customers could assist my business to
create improvements towards its products or services aimed toward customers.

3.6 Revenue Stream

The BNE product has a starting price at RM15.00, BNFR is RM15, and BPCS is RM3. As
an outcome, each unit sold produces a profit of RM3 to RM5, only with remainder has been used
to purchase more cosmetic product. Ideally, the annual revenue stream is RM5,000, given the net

income of RM 1,000 from a monthly selling target of 150 units. Customers' payments will be
collected on particular days of the week and immediately transferred to the owner's account.
Receipts are recorded for the purpose of reviewing transactional processes, and a list of customers'
orders with postage deliveries is shared with the owner for reference. Prior to the situation of the
pandemic, which affected the stocks' abundance and capability for bulk supply shipping, little sales
might be made throughout the period of assessment. As a result, the primary focus was placed on
marketing efforts rather than revenue generation in order to increase the sales before the situation
was secure enough for stock availability and delivery operations to resume.

3.7 Key Resources

Several key resources were also used to conduct marketing and selling operations for
Birdnest Skincare by NurSyaf. To begin, the owner provided the product through J&T Express
courier. Nevertheless, as the epidemic spread, it became a little bit difficult to interact with
customers face to face. So, after the pandemic in the Kuala Kangsar district has subsided, face-to-
face sales will resume as normal, but in accordance with the SOP that will be developed.

Furthermore, I will continue to use J&T courier as my platform for delivering products to
customers who are unable to meet face to face. This is attributed to the reason that J&T courier is
the party in responsible for ensuring that the items are delivered directly to the owner of the
property.

Finally, customers are vital key resources in my business because for every product I use,
I will ask them to review them; if the rating is high, my business will rise, and I will be able to
serve more people who require this birdnest skincare on a routine basis.

3.8 Key Activities

The business's key activities are actions that it must fulfill in order to function. It goes a lot
deeper than that. The key responsibilities are the tasks you must fulfill in order which provide
customers using your value propositions.

To pique the public's interest, I'll constantly keep the media informed about the information
and promotions that I run on social media platforms like Facebook. Using social media to
communicate the message assists me in disseminating the most up-to-date information about the
product. My customers are more likely to test my goods if I use creativity and interaction.

Finally, after collecting the customer's order, I will be packaging it along with the free gifts
and deliver it directly to the customer via J&T Enterprise courier. If the customer located outside
the area that I would be liable to, I will use a courier.

3.9 Key Partner

The HQ, which provided the product to be delivered to stockiest agents throughout
Malaysia, is among the key partners in this business. Puan Nadya Abdullah, the founder of Birdnest
Essence, will keep an eye on the stockiest agent's every move and promotion. The second key
partner is another agent stockiest; we will cooperate and moreover compete in a healthier way, as
the founder will inform each Leader at the end of each month that the agent stockiest will earn the
promised promotion and bonus. The final key partner is a courier; for this Birdnest Skincare by
NurSyaf business, I will engage J&T Express to deliver products that customers have ordered.
This is attributable to the fact that these couriers are highly responsible when it comes to fulfilling
their jobs, and they also operate quickly and efficiently.

3.10 Cost Structure

Each time you restock as a dropship agent, you will be charged RM75 for the first 5 units.
The pricing would then rise to RM140 for ten units. Each item will be paid for in a balanced way.

BNE (Birdnest Essence) costs RM20, BNFR (Birdnest Facial Radiance) costs RM20, and the last
one costs RM5 for one book of BPCS (Birdnest Propolis Collagen Soap). The delivery will be
paid by the founder and supplied to each agent stockiest due to the capital withdrawal of RM75
each time restock.

I've included a WhatsApp button at the top of the message button. The rationale is to make it easier

Conclusion

I was able to learn a little about the importance of doing business as well as how to conduct
business effectively over the course of several months of hard work on this project. Before starting
on this dropship career, I was afraid to enter the business world since I lacked confidence and no
one could provide me with the necessary assistance. Dr. Iskandar Hamzah gives instructions that
are relatively easy to understand in this ENT530 syllabus, even though i did not understand much
at first for some topics. Dr. Iskandar Hamzah, on the other hand, calmly and politely briefed me
one by one.

I started in a dropship when my mother brought home a beauty product and asked me to
try it because my complexion was a little dull at the time because I was often up most of the night
and my hand had been burned by hot oil. After using the product, I found it to be effective, and I
advised my mother to buy it again. My mother advised me to become a dropship agent because I
may earn a reasonably high return on investment because there are a lot of people seeking for the
product in Kuala Kangsar. I agreed and contacted Leader Birdnest Skincare straight away to get
the product, which would have been the beginning of my dropship career.

I started off by advertising this beauty product on Facebook, a prominent social media
platform. Birdnest Skincare by NurSyaf is a combination of the product name and my own name,
with the objective of enabling others about the advantages of this beauty product and its capability
to restore health to the skin. Managing this social media platform has taught me that starting a
business is not as simple as it sounds to the public at large. It requires a lot of time and a lot of
business knowledge. Also, bear in mind that business has its ups and downs, especially during this
pandemic season, because there are certain difficulties to having face to face with customers, but
orders are still delivered to customers as usual because there is no physical contact between the
skin. Apart from that, the problem I had in managing Birdnest Skincare by NurSyaf was a time
because I am still a student at Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) in my last year of study. All of
this, however, did not affect my passion for dropshipping and was not an excuse for me not to
complete the projects assigned by the lecturers. True success comes from being able to persevere
in the face of adversity and exercising patience in all aspects of life.

Not to mention, I use online banking and Cash on Delivery to handle the payments I get from sales,
making it much easier for those who live far away. The most memorable instance happened during a cash-
on-delivery deal. While I am aware that everyone has a wonderful character that contributes to the variety
of life, having to meet them in person has a different impact. Their personality color varies from introverted,
friendly to ghosting and being late. To begin with, bashful. These are the types of customers who ask a lot
of questions during the chat session, but when I deliver the product myself, they become really shy, and for
female clients, they immediately walk inside. But, to speak the truth, these sorts of shy customers are my
loyal consumers since both parties treat each other with respect. Second, friendly. It's a lot of fun delivering
the product to the lively customers because I didn’t know them. The fact that a majority of them are high
school students makes me assume that the situation is unique. They will communicate with me cheerfully,
wondering about where and what I learn, and a few of them will even seek advice on their future plans.
Many of them are either my sisters' colleagues or my juniors. Thirdly, there are some who ghost individuals,
which may be bothersome at times. This is when a customer places an order, and therefore does not respond
to my Text messaging until after I have delivered the product, resulting in the purchase being cancelled.
Finally, there are those that are always late. I've experienced two or three dealings with this type of
customer, and they can be pretty unpleasant. When I wanted to deliver a product, I tell the customers of the
exact time delivery, and they respond with "OK." However, when I arrive at their house and notify them,
they reply back with "they will be home in a few minutes," or "some of them take a long time to reply to
my messages, and then leave their house after around 5 minutes." With all of these memories, though,
teaching me a little about how to interact with customers and their behavior sometimes makes me happy.

Lastly, we can assume from this assignment that the majority of local entrepreneurs,
specifically small business owners who have been in business for further than a decade. This leads
to problems with packaging, production, and marketing strategies, among several other product
and business management problems. Many of these problems required a financial sacrifice, and
they needed to expand their knowledge by joining an entrepreneur seminar. In order to remain
competitive with other commercially produced products on the market. Based on current media
and technology, business plans must be improved and upgraded. Online business platforms are
extremely effective for every type of product in today's sophisticated era. Aside from the product
item, the packaging and condition of the product play a vital role in increasing revenue. There is
no reason why local or village products cannot fight with other products if the products are also of
high quality. With the appropriate marketing strategy, they can spread their product not just to
local but also internationally.

I hope that in the future, more people who are educated about business could stand forward
to teach the ins and outs of business to young people and the elderly who are serious about making
extra money. This is because, after the CoVID-19 outbreak, numerous business were negatively
affected by the epidemic, with sales declining to the level where they had to leave their jobs
permanently.
