Elements of Arts: Value

1. Explain your key takeaways in the discussion about the application of value in different
work of arts.

We all know that value deals with light. Sometimes, we can understand an artwork from
its lightness and darkness. Even films like Human Centipede 2 and Orphan are using
dark value. Using dark value will help filmmakers to create tension and for us to be
scared. While in Christian films, we opt to see light value.

2. In your own explanation how does value imply depth and solidity in an artwork.

Value is very important in implying depth and solidity because artwork can be yellow
or red but still have the same value. Value can create a dramatic effect and make you
feel emotions.

Elements of Arts: Space

3. Explain your key takeaways in the discussion about the application of value in different
work of arts.

Space gives itself nicely to realism and depicts reality as it appears. Space also serves as
a point of reference for the viewer while analyzing an artwork. It also generates iconic
images, conveys ideas and meanings, provides balance, and draws the viewer's attention
to the chosen focal point.

4. Why is it important for the artists to maximize and carefully use the element of space in an
artwork?

Maximizing the element of space carefully enables us to describe what an artist has
made. Creating illusions widens the mental and makes the artwork a little different than
they seem. In this way, the element of space can create a different perspective and deeper
understanding of an artwork.
Elements of Arts: Motion and Time

5. Explain your key takeaways in the discussion about the application of value in different
work of arts.

The use of motion and time organizes the creative aspects of a piece of art. The majority
of the audience follows the shape, color, and form of an artwork, which keeps the
audience engaged in the artwork. We can see how various films use time in different
types of scenarios. The audience can also feel emotions based on motion and time.

6. Why do you think time and motion are closely linked to one another?

Motion and time are closely linked to each other because time implies change and
movement. It is very effective in expressing ecstasy or misery.
