INTRODUCTORY WORKSHOP

Watch four (4) different videos presented in class. Describe them as much as possible,
taking into account not only the different features contained in them, as well as their
communicative intentions.

Video 1:
Description:
Caffe
The atmosphere of this scene talks about a cafeteria which Carolina comes to this caffe
and started to ask for her order and Angie in this case the waitress recommends the new
desserts they are selling and although Carolina is not love of sweets, by the way she asks
for a cake that is a tradition to eat in That coffee, the total of the account is five dollars
according to Angie ,Carolina ask if she can pay with credit card which there is no problem,
to finish , they say goodbye after receiving their order and Angie the credit card.

There is a transactional intention because in this case it is Carolina who is requesting the
information and requesting a service which Angie is willing to follow and fulfill her wishes

Description:
Health control
In this case, the dramatization is in the doctor where Carolina is a little sick and Angie the
“doctor” begins to ask where the pain comes from and as a result recommends taking

Here like the previous Carolina comes for service and to be reviewed by an expert and in
this case Angie being a doctor in the dramatization, Carolina is willing to follow her advice
and recommendations such as food and a new lifestyle that she must have to Improve
your health
Video 3:
Description:
In this third dramatization they talk each other as friends, they begin to ask each other
some questions, among them an invitation to a family outing in which Carolina wants
Angie to participate, again begins a round of questions to ensure if Angie is going to like
the place where They are going to make the trip, not knowing exactly where they will go,
Angie asks him:
-Do you have any recommendations for me?
- Yes, don't forget mosquito repellent, sunscreen and your glasses
Therefore it is inferred that it will be a trip to a place with nature, follow some questions
to know their thoughts about this to ensure that Angie will be comfortable being there,

Description:
Telephone call
The girls on the call are talking about a specific dish saying how much they like it, suddenly
they remember the way the mother and the fly cook that it seems to be very tasty and
thus they trigger a conversation-debate about which is tastier that the mother cooks in
the case of Carolina and the grandmother in the case of Angie, they argue a little naming
dishes and in the end they end up buying the tickets to go visit them and have them taste
each other's food

This was the clearest example of interactional, because they are sharing and comparing
information that allows them to know a little more about the memories of the other, both
have an equal participation and importance in this conversation that is why it is
interactional
