STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

Many of us love drinking coffee, and many of us desire a coffee maker that is both practical
and quick to operate. A coffee maker allows users to enjoy freshly prepared coffee at home, in the
office, or any other workplace. Coffee makers these days are really slow. And that is one of the
problems that many individuals face that who use coffee makers. Before you finish making your
coffee, you will feel dizzy while waiting for it to be poured by the coffee maker. And coffee makers
nowadays consume a lot of electricity, and it takes long time to create a cup of coffee.

The coffee maker now has a slow flow of water, and when it is finished flowing into the glass,
it is no longer heated. Another issue with a natural coffee maker is that you must push a few buttons
before the coffee maker will begin to blend. To froth the milk in a natural coffee machine, you
must do it by hand. Furthermore, it lacks the state-of-the-art machine that everyone desires in their
coffee. Many people like to have a coffee art on the top of their coffee, but it is difficult to do since
you will have to draw it using foamy coffee milk or another equipment just to have a latte art. In
addition, natural coffee maker is quite expensive for anyone who like a latte since they need to
purchase a separate latte machine or visit to a coffee shop that knows how to prepare a latte art. It
causes consumers problems when it comes to brewing and drinking coffee in a simplistic way.

OBJECTIVES

Our group are aiming to create a unique coffee maker that help people in their home and work.
This innovation of coffee maker has the following objectives:

 To give low maintenance

 To save money and people's time on making coffee.
 For the people wanted to make and drink coffee in an easy way.
 To help people to consume least amount of electricity.
 To create a system where people can choose what design they like to put on their coffee.
 To know the assessment of the system in terms of functionality, effectiveness, efficiency,
ease of use and dependability.

who wants to start a business about coffee shop. It also has low maintenance as you don’t need to

well as your time on making your coffee and frothing the milk to design it on top of your coffee
drink. Additionally, our product also has a steaming wand for frothing a milk for those people who

The Cushy Coffee Maker comes with an app called Cushy Coffee Maker. It is available on
app store and play store. The app is fully protected by us because it can only be used when you
buy our Cushy Coffee Maker machine and when you scan the code. The images that you want on
your coffee that is came from your gallery will be all confidential. As it asks for your permission,
and it allows you to clear history. In addition, the app can also control your whole coffee. If you
already have a history, you can proceed on choosing your coffee. It doesn’t require you to scan
again the code as the app already recognize that you are a Cushy user. It is very convenient as it
saves your time from clicking its button especially when you’re busy. Even if you are away to the
machine, it can still recognize that it’s you within 10 meters. The following are the step-by-step
on how to operate the app.

The first image is the Breville Barista Pro a coffee maker with steam wand for frothing
milk. The steam wand performance allows you to hand texture micro-foam milk that enables
creation of latte art. This product requires you to froth your own milk. Unlike the Cushy Coffee
Maker, it doesn’t require you to froth a milk because it is already automatic. You just need to click
on your phone and easily choose a design for your coffee.

The second image is the Evebot Latte Art Coffee Printer. It is a machine for printing
designs for drinks like coffee. One of its specifications is, it doesn’t need an app, just upload the
image by scanning or putting the URL. Unlike our product, we provide an app so that it will be
easy for the customers or individuals to choose their design. Additionally, the Evebot needed to be
connected on internet while our Cushy Coffee Maker doesn’t need to be connected on internet.
You just need to open the app, scan the code, and proceed on making your coffee.

The two images indicates that the coffee maker as well as the latte art printing machine are
separated. However, the third image is our Cushy Coffee Maker. We developed a product which
is 3 in 1, there’s a coffee maker, a steaming wand for frothing a milk if you don’t want to use the
app, and a latte art machine scanner by simply downloading the app provided by Cushy. If you
buy that product, automatically the app will be installed on your device. You can share it by
scanning the code and sharing it using the app. It is easy because the app is fully secured and
protected by Cushy. Moreover, it can bring anytime and anywhere because it is battery operated.
It will be very beneficial to individuals and families who are travelling. The app can also control
your whole coffee. After scanning the code, you will proceed on choosing what coffee you want
and after that, you will design. If you click ‘confirm’ the machine will make your coffee instantly.

TARGET MARKET

Provided the statement of the problem that the researchers would like to solve and

objectives they want to achieve, the potential target market of the product innovation are:

 Individuals aged 24 and above who can afford and want to buy
 Families who want to buy
 Owners of coffee shop
 Person who is planning to start a business

We all know that a lot of people love to drink coffee. Person ages 24 and above are one of
the target markets of our product because they are the ones that can avail the product that we offer.
This is also a great investment for them if they love coffee. One of the unique things that our coffee
machine can do is it can create some latte art automatically as fast as possible. For a coffee shop
owner, it will be a great asset because they don't need to find or hire a barista or someone who can
do latte art, it will also lessen their expenditure for the salary for their employees. This is also a
great investment for them because we make sure that this machine will last for years. This product
is a good suggestion product for someone who wants to start a business. We make sure that our
product is budget friendly and worth every penny they paid. It will be easy for them to start
instantly because they don't need to study how to make latte art. They will just operate it through
the phone, and it will automatically make a good coffee with latte art in an instant.
HOW DOES IDEATION AND DESIGN THINKING HELP AND AFFECT THE
PROCESS OF YOUR PRODUCT INNOVATION?

Ideation and design thinking help and affect the process of our product innovation by
thinking something unique and creative that will surely help the people. First, we think of a product
that lacks something that we want to add. Second, we suggested some problems that people
experience on that product especially when they are working in office or at home. Third, we
brainstorm those problems and ideas then we came up to a solution to innovate a product that will
benefit to people and families. We think of something that will make our product more convenient
and easier to them. This product innovation enhances our creative mind and skills and our group

Ideation and design thinking were important in guiding me down the path of creativity.
While developing new product, we engage in brainstorming and design thinking. It assists us in
generating innovative ideas and organizing them in the most effective method to achieve a specific
goal, such as fixing life problems while keeping the target market in mind. Understanding societal
challenges through brainstorming is a method of defining user demands, insights, and difficulties
to improve innovation. Due to a worldwide pandemic, it's difficult to find brewed coffee these
days. Because of the pandemic, every mall and restaurant that serves brewed coffee is closed. We
were able to develop the "Cushy Coffee Maker" product, which will benefit not only ourselves but
also consumers, particularly those who love coffee. We created this product to help people save
time by not having to make coffee one cup at a time and to encourage people to be more creative.
By prioritizing both the product and the target market, we may observe and create empathy for the
target user. Through ideation and design thinking, my group and I were able to come up with a
new product that will help us and many people in our target market. We were discussing what we
should do, sharing our thoughts and ideas and determining what product we should make. Ideation
and design thinking assist us in gathering additional knowledge that is extremely beneficial to us.
The product we develop was vital today since, as a coffee lover, a comfortable coffee maker is
essential because it can save you money and time while preparing your coffee. (Hannah Mae

 Ideation and design thinking help and affects the group process of product innovation by
giving us a creative and innovative ideas. It gives us the goal to produce a huge idea that our group
can process, and it also help to create a better design and efficient product in order to inspire people
who like the product. It also helps us become a one team because we generate ideas through
brainstorming and prototyping and every one of us gives a techniques and good ideas that help our
product to be more innovative, more modern, and more practical for everyone. Ideation and design
think also affects our understanding when it comes to the customer needs. It helps us to understand

Ideation is the process of producing, developing, and transmitting new ideas, with an idea
being defined as a fundamental part of the mind that might be visual, physical, or abstract. In my
opinion, ideation enables us to come up with this idea. Cushy Coffee Maker is the product that we
create that can help people, specifically someone who loves coffee. A machine that creates
different kinds of coffee and also a latte art at the same time. While design thinking helps us to
come up with the product that we think can solve the problem of some people, a product that will
make their life easier. This product is recommended for someone who wants to open a business, it

Ideation and design thinking really help us in creating our project. It helps us to create a
unique and innovative design for our project, it also brings together perspectives and strengths of
our team members. It helps us to be more creative and be wiser when it comes to the collaboration
