Concept Paper: World of Regions

Introduction

World of the regions talks about the impact brought by globalization to every region in the
world. According to O.T Ford, a world region is a large primary division of the world used
in higher education originally in anthropology, but then also in geography and history, and
as the basis for area studies. World of regions include North America, Latin America,
Europe, the Middle East and North Africa, Sub-Saharan Africa, Central Asia, South Asia,
East Asia, Southeast Asia, and often the Caribbean, by those names; the remaining
regions are some variations of a Russian sphere, and an Australia-Pacific region, with no
standard names.

This concept paper includes the study that regards foreign and economic policies,
locating the global south, and globalization and the Asia Pacific and South. Understanding
the Philippines foreign and economic policies give us different perspectives and
expectations that allow us to see our country as a whole. Locating the global south deals
about the countries associated in global south that are less economically and politically
stable. Characteristics of Global South include inequalities, poverty, lack of human rights,
and low economic growth that the countries suffered. While the Globalization and the Asia
Pacific and South deals with how globalization changes the countries in Asia that benefits
from worldwide investment flows, knowledge exchanges, and rapid economic growth.

Background

The study of World of Regions differentiates the global south from the developing nations
and regionalization from globalization. It also analyzes how the experiences of Latin
America countries contributed to the new conception of global relations, and last it
analyzes how different Asian states confront the challenges of globalization and
regionalization, and the factors leading to a greater integration of the Asian region.
Lisandro E. Claudio's study of locating the global south shows the different factors
associated with the global south. It includes Starbucks and the Shanty in his introduction,
conceptualizing without Defining, Colonialism, Modernity, Creation of Global Inequality,
and Challenging the Colonial Order. The study shows the countries in the global south
experienced different global economic challenges and crises. They suffered from high
unemployment, addiction, low income, poverty, inequality, and low economic growth.

It shows how globalization really affects the countries in the global south. The inequalities
happening between the global south and global north include power inequality and
poverty. In addition, Globalization is a form of colonialism that prevents the development
of third-world countries. There are policies or practices of a wealthy and powerful nation's
maintaining or extending its control over other countries.

On the other hand, Ehito Kimura study of Globalization and the Asia Pacific and South
Asia examine the impact of globalization on Asia. Globalization can be understood as a
process that transforms the Asia Pacific and South Asia. It can also be seen as a force
for good bringing economic development, political progress, and social and cultural
diversity to the region. Others see the darker effects of globalization including its role in
economic underdevelopment and the uprooting of local tradition and culture. there's no
denying that colonization in the region began in the 1500s and brought massive and
terrible effects.

Economic globalization and liberalization have arguably had other broad regional effects
on Asia Pacific economies. In terms of working conditions in the Asia Pacific, a study by
the ILO highlights how labor practices are undergoing significant changes. Critics argue
that globalization is leading to cultural homogenization and the destruction of cultural
diversity. Western cultural trends have spread globally and increasingly marginalize the
way local cultural practices are expressed. There has also been a rapid expansion of
supermarkets in the region, and many domestic fast-food chains are also popping up
throughout Asia to compete with Western brands.

In Foreign and Economic Policies of the Philippines, the Philippine Development Plan
2011-2016 adopts a framework of inclusive growth, which is high growth that is sustained,
generates mass employment, and reduces poverty. With good governance and anti-
corruption as the overarching theme of each intervention, the plan translates into specific
goals, objectives, strategies, programs, and projects all the things that we want to
accomplish in the medium term.

The Philippine Development Plan will serve as our guide in formulating policies and
implementing development programs for the next six years. To pursue rapid and
sustainable economic growth and development, improve the quality of life of the Filipino,
empower the poor and marginalized and enhance our social cohesion as a nation. It
enables us to work systematically to give the Filipino people a better chance of finally
finding their way out of poverty, inequality, and the poor state of human development. Our
strategic development policy framework thus focuses on improving transparency and
accountability in governance, strengthening the macro economy, boosting the
competitiveness of our industries, facilitating infrastructure development, strengthening
the financial sector and capital mobilization, improving access to quality social services,
enhancing peace and security for development, and ensuring ecological integrity.

Statement of the Problem

The group will seek to answer the relevance of the World Regions on the Globalization.

Understanding the worlds of each region is very important to all of us, especially when it
comes to our learning. The concept "world region" consists of a huge basic division of the
globe used in higher education, initially in anthropology, but later in geography and
history, and as the foundation for area studies. It is important to answer the question,
"What is the relevance of the world regions to globalization?" because we will learn the
importance of the worlds of regions and on how they started globalization. By answering
this question, we will learn the different information about the worlds of regions, and we
will learn about the changes on earth in the past because of the impact of globalization.
And the information about the Asia-Pacific and South Asia regions has emerged as a
primary driver of world politics. The area covers two seas the Pacific and the Indian that
are increasingly connected by shipping and trade, stretching from the Indian subcontinent
to the western borders of the Americas. It is home to about half of the world's population.
It encompasses several of the world's most important economic engines, as well as the
major emitters of greenhouse gases.

“What good comes of this answer?”

There is a good comes the answer to our question: by that we will see the impact of
globalization on the Philippines in terms of trade, finance, migration, and foreign policies.
We will see the relationship between the Philippines and each of every country in Asia.
We will also focus on how globalization started in some of the most popular branches of
markets all over the world, as well as globalization in the Asia Pacific and South Asia.
This answer will help people to learn about the Philippine Development Plan, which aims
to improve the quality of life of Filipinos, empower the poor and marginalized, and
enhance our social cohesion as a nation. This also gives an information on how Asia-
Pacific and South Asia have become a key driver of global politics. And it has a good
reason because this answer is focuses on the concept of a region and the way to
understand its relationship to globalization.

Globalization allows companies to find lower-cost ways to produce their products. It also
increases global competition, which drives prices down and creates a larger variety of
choices for consumers. Lowered costs help people in both developing and already-
developed countries live better on less money. While globalization offers many benefits,
it’s not without challenges. Velocity Global 2020 State of Global Expansion Report. The
UK Technology Industry reveals some of the top challenges that U.S. and UK tech leaders
face when taking their companies global, and leaders of other companies likely face the
same obstacles.

This project is worth writing because it allows us to learn and to understand more about
the importance of the world of region in globalization. In this paper, people will seek an
information on how globalization affects the worlds of regions, on how it affects the foreign
policies and economy of a country, on how globalization helps business branches be
more popular, and on how Asia Pacific and South Pacific explore the relationship between
globalizations. The following is a brief overview to help guide anyone interested in gaining
a better understanding of the many issues associated with globalization.

Research Design and Methods

The group will seek to answer the research question by means of survey with the group
of people that is close to us and our classmates because it is not easy to communicate
with other people right now because of the pandemic so we will use a survey instead of
the interview. Once they answered our survey, we will be collecting data from them, also
gain information and insights so it will be easy for us to come up for a solution that will
help us find the answer in our research question.

We will be using an online survey this process will contain a set of structured questions
that the group of respondents will answer or complete over the net, generally through
filling out a form. It is a more natural way to reach out to respondents as it is less time
consuming than the traditional way of gathering information through one-to-one
interaction and it is also less expensive.
