1. Introduction to the Course

This subject is aimed at sensitizing the budding leaders to the various systems and processes involved in
a business environment. Course topics include introduction to ERP and CRM, Application of
Information Technology in EM, Open Source ERP, ERP and CRM modules structure and capabilities.
The readings, material covered in class, and written assignments are designed to match the following
course goals:

1. Provide understanding of advanced level resource planning through ERP


2. Introduce students to the various applications of ERP/CRM.
3. Help students to visualize and appreciate complex business eco-system.

2. Course Content
This course has five modules. Each module addresses specific course learning objectives, mentioned
previously, that are indicated after a module’s description by a number in parentheses.
1. Introduction: Topics covered include an introduction to ERP and a road map to successful
implementation. An overview of enterprise, different types of information management
systems .(1)
2. Application of information technology in EM: Students will be introduced to business process
reengineering, data warehousing, OLAP, Product Life Cycle management, supply chain
management and ERP security (1)
3. Open Source ERP: Students will be given hands on experience of ERP, with ERP next and
CRM(3)
4. ERP modules structure: ERP modules are discussed , students are expected to understand the
various aspects of ERP(2)

B.Guidelines for Submitting Assignments

Assignment 1: Case Analysis Presentation

In this Assignment, the students need to identify the organization of their choice who has implemented
any ERP system and elaborate whether it is successful or failure. They also need to stress on the points
responsible for the successful and failure of the implementation. They need to present for 15 minutes
followed by Q & A.
Assignment 2: ERP Cycle Presentation in ODOO
Identify a hypothetical company of your choice (Product Based) . This assignment is for 10 marks of
your CIE . The assignment includes sales cycle, purchase order cycle, Manufacturing cycle and HR in
ERP Next. This assignment is individual. Students need to show the demonstration and also submit a
copy of their work. Students have to create their login credentials using Odoo and start preparing the
four cycles.

Assignment 3: CRM process configuration in ODOO

The assignment involves each student carrying out following activities:


 Identify an organization, which can be benefitted from CRM system implementation
 Do high level mapping of the business requirement to CRM product (Odoo or any CRM product
of their choice)
 Configure the system at a high level

Code of Conduct

1. Students should understand course learning objectives stated in the course syllabus on day 1 of the
course as to what it means, why it is important, how they are assessed etc., so that they know the
value of the course they are taking.
2. Instructors encourage students’ questions.
3. Students cannot leave the class during lecture time without prior permission.
4. Use of mobile phones during the class is not permitted. Mobile phone will be confiscated if
student is found using phone in class.
5. Students are required to do some further readings prior to coming to class.
6. Late submission of assignment is not acceptable.
7. A student who misses an internal exam will not be allowed for any make-up internal exam. Make-
up internal exam will be allowed only if the student is hospitalized or on duty assigned by the
institute.
8. All the assignment reports are checked for plagiarism using turn-it-in. The assignment reports that
have more than 20% match will get zero grade and will be referred for investigation.
