1. i) List the main purpose of using S.M.M in preparing bill of quantities.

A comprehensive examination on the function of the SMM indicate that the rules of
measurement drafted in SMMs are used for the purpose of producing a good standard
procurement document (BQ) by obtaining a tender price for the project, and producing
cost estimates or cost plans

ii) Based on Figure 1: Dimension Paper, translate the usage of space (1,2,3 & 4)
provided in the dimension paper.
