Assignment 2: What are the steps involved in the SCIENTIFIC METHOD? Enumerate and give 1
sentence explanation (in your own words) for each step.
The Scientific method has 7 steps describing the following:
1. Make an observation - as we observe a study using our five senses such as hear, taste, touch, sight and smell
that gives us interest to help form some patterns, questions and trends out of our curiosity
2. Identify the problem - based on the observation we made, we ask a question and define a problem that needs
an experiment or an investigation and not just on something that is answerable by Yes or No.
3. Gather Data - collecting data helps us to gain understanding and create a new set of information about the
observation of the study we made.
4. Form a hypothesis - the hypothesis we made is what we think the answer or the results we predict to the
problems we identified.

5. Test the hypothesis - we test our hypothesis to prove if it is right or wrong by measuring the same quantity
and data to be changed or to use during the experiment in a repeating process.

6. Analyze the results - we represent results by explaining the details, which formed new
information that we have completed after we execute the experiment.
7. Draw a conclusion - we come up a conclusion based on the data we understand, the hypothesis and results
combined; producing us a statement that sums up what we have learned during the experiment

Assignment 3: Quick Question. What is the role of Science and Technology in your life? (10 sentences)
As Science helps us to explore the purpose to know a thing or a phenomenon, Technology also helps us to
explore the purpose of making something from that knowledge. Combining Science and Technology, it
penetrated every aspect of my life. As a student, learning and communicating becomes easier because of
Technology. Using Laptop and smartphones where just in one click you can surf for information you need.
Online classes also pushed me to use the availability of online books and e-library to gather more information
about my assignment and academic activities. It also helped me to save time and money by using advance and
innovative inventions such as air fryer and rice cooker where I can cook food easily without getting burned.
When it comes to travelling, electronic jeepneys with air conditioner gives me comfortable ride until I reached
my destination in a minimum fare. Indeed, Science and Technology introduced us to the modern world and
civilization developing the world continuously. However, we, humans, should be responsible and learn to utilize
the innovations we had in a limited extend. We should monitor our actions in using Science and Technology to
avoid producing disastrous outcome.
