Performance Task

1. Why is research important in daily life?

- Research is a creative and systematic work done to expand the knowledge and
understanding. It requires gathering, arranging and reviewing information in order to
improve the awareness of the subject or problem. Research is important to our daily life
because it provides information that allows us to make informed decisions and it makes
you more aware of different world events, cultures, events that interest you,
opportunities, connections and relationships. Research helps us learn something new
everyday. It will exercise our minds that is helpful in our studies, sharpens our brains
that allows us to be creative, imaginative or innovative and could also be helpful in
project success. That’s why Shaleen Singh give 9 reasons why research is important
because it gives us a light to inquire about the right information, it develops a mentality
not to believe anything commonly available and to go on one track, it sharpens the brain
and give it a selective view to look at, it leads us to the ultimate philosophy of all the
subjects and builds a graphic vision of life it empowers us with knowledge and efficient
learning of new things, it helps us in understanding various issues of life in a larger
manner, it evolves us to mark out the thin line between truth and lie, it opens news
vistas of opportunity before us to pick and choose and lastly, it makes good habits of
reading, analyzing, thinking, and learning.

2. How research helps you to achieve your goal in life?

- My dream is to be a successful business woman like my parents and I know research will
help me to achieve my goal because research benefits business. Based on my research,
many successful companies, such as those producing consumer goods or mass-market
items, invest in research and development. Different industries that involve science and
engineering processes (like agriculture, food and beverage, manufacturing, healthcare
and pharmaceuticals, computer software, semiconductor, information and
communication technology, construction, robotics, aerospace, aviation, and energy)
have high research and development expenses because it is critical to the creation and
improvement of their products and services. Research can also help a company maintain
a positive commercial image, retain existing customers, and attract new customers
through targeted marketing. Marketing is a type of communication, and for that
communication to be effective, businesses need to understand their customers. This
usually happens through market research, which can involve examining psychological
studies about consumption, hosting focus groups, beta testing products with a select
group of customers, sending satisfaction surveys to existing customers, and researching
the business's main competitors, among other strategies. The most successful
companies, large and small, base their product creation, service offers and marketing
communications on information obtained from the in-research processes.

3. Construct a research title and discuss its importance to your life.

Effects of Gadgets to Health of the Students

Gadgets make the world a great and easy place to live. As a student, gadget is important
for me because it promotes independent learning like I can learn without the assistance of
my parents and teachers. It enhances communication because nowadays, gadget helps in
our social life like making new friends or talking to our family. It speeds up our work,
technology helps us to work efficiently. Students can complete their lengthy dissertation
writing and any type of academic writing tasks in less time period. Lastly, it helps teachers
to educate students in exciting way that’s why teachers can provide videos, images and
other graphic lessons can deliver to the students through these latest technologies. This
generates exciting learning atmosphere and endorses interest in the education field.

But gadgets have many effects to our health. Addiction is the most commonly reasons
why students can’t focus to their studies because they get addicted to gaming, texting or
talking on phone or online. Addiction can make affect our health like effect on eyes because
prolonged use of electronic gadgets causes ‘computer vision syndrome’ which manifests as
eye strain, dryness, irritation, burning sensation, redness, blurred vision, and double vision.
Body pain, the pain mainly results from improper posture because of always sitting and
laying. Lastly, our mental health. Overuse of the smartphone which is commonly in young
adults, is associated with anxiety, depression, stress, and low self-esteem. They have poor
social relationships; thus, they think they should be in constant contact with others. Mobile
phone silence can lead to irritability, sleep disturbances, insomnia, and digestive problems.
Results of a number of studies show that mobile phone radiation causes changes in gene
regulation, auditory and visual problems, increased pressure of acid on the cornea and lens
tissue, headache, heat sensation in the ears, memory loss, and fatigue.

As a student, it is important to have a time limit, discipline and control when using
gadgets. Let’s do more physical activities with our friends and family because it helps us to
get more closer or bond with them. Time is short that’s why we have to enjoy our life.
