As of that fact, I will give some examples so that we can determine the type of knot we should be
doing based on its compatibility. The first example that I am going to discuss is Prusik knot, which is a
versatile sort of ‘friction hitch.' This knot is useful for rock climbing, mountaineering, and rescue, among
other things. It's a popular knot because of its flexibility and ease of usage, and it's often used by both
pros and beginners because to how quickly it can be constructed. Rappelling can also be accomplished
using the prusik knot, stopper knots are useful in a variety of situations. They can provide weight to a
rope, keep it from sliding through a hole, keep a cut rope from fraying, and so forth. They can also be used
as a backup knot in the event of a knot failure, i.e. (knotted around the standing end). The next example
would be the square knot, which is a line connecting knot that is widely used for tying bandages or gently
fastening a cargo. However, based on what I have researched, square knots are not recommended for
tying objects with big loads since it does not have that kind of capacity to maintain its composure for a
long time.
In general, learning how to do different kinds of knots as an ROTC student would provide a
sufficient knowledge especially when it comes to undergoing certain operations which requires this kind
of skill. As it is mentioned earlier, one of the uses of prusik knot is for rescuing which I believe, part of duty
as an ROTC cadet to be fulfilled since there would be a time in our lives when we need to save another’s
life and it could come useful by reason of learning different kinds of knots
