The self-concept is a knowledge representation that contains knowledge about us, including our
beliefs about our personality traits, physical characteristics, abilities, values, goals, and roles, as
well as the knowledge that we exist as individuals.
 Social Self
- The aspects of one's identity or self-concept that are important to or influenced by
interpersonal relationships and the reactions of other people. This is the way you talk
or interact with others. The emphasis is on self-esteem along with self-centrality, self-
complexity, social interest, identification, power, marginality, openness, and majority
identification. It also involves the social anxiety or fear of people.
 Unconscious Self
- In Sigmund Freud's psychoanalytic theory of personality, the unconscious mind is
defined as a reservoir of feelings, thoughts, urges, and memories that outside of
conscious awareness. Like sometimes you do something on impulse and you have no
idea why you did it. Freud believed that the unconscious continues to influence
behavior even though people are unaware of these underlying influences.
 Conscious Self
- The conscious mind contains all of the thoughts, memories, feelings, and wishes of
which we are aware at any given moment. A person who has a conscious self is a
person who is overly concerned about his own actions and appearance and with what
others think of him. An example of a self-conscious person is someone who is
continually checking his appearance to make sure he looks OK and doesn't have
something that could embarrass him.
 Spiritual self
- This includes your relationship with your spirit.  you in your most beautiful and
powerful form. It is the authentic self, the unconditioned part, the you without
patterns. This is personal for each of us, so no need to get caught up on the language.
On your Process you got to know this part of yourself, as we call it, your Spiritual
Self.
 Hidden Self
- This hidden or avoided self represents information, feelings, etc., anything that a
person knows about him/self, but which is not revealed or is kept hidden from others.
Like a Blind Spot — Unknown to self, but known to others: Sometimes we
communicate something we are unaware of. For example, I might say, “I'm not
angry,” while slamming my fist on the table.
