My Own Interpretation in Nature and Process of Communication

Communication is part of our daily living. It is one of the many things that is
very important to us because it is the one that connects us to other people.
Some of us do have common ideas, experience and many kinds of things to
others, by means of communication, we can share it and talk about it with
each other. Communication comes from two Latin words; First is “Communis”
which mean is “Common” in English and the second one is “Communicare”
which mean is “To Share”, so if we put them together, we’ll come up with a
phrase “Common to share”. For me Communication is the key to
understanding.
Learning the Nature and Process of Communication will make our
communication more meaningful. The reason why we must study
communication is for us to understand ourselves as a person and us a social
being, to gain professional competence, and to preserve our cultural values.
Knowing those reasons will help you understand more of about what is
communication and how communication works. Communication will only be
successful and will continue to grow if there is something common between the
person who’s talking and to the person who’s listening. “It takes two to speak
the truth-one to speak and another to hear”- Henry David Thoreau. For them to
understand each other they must have something in common, like same
Language, Knowledge, Interest, Experience and Culture.
Communicating is not always that complicated to be understood of, we just
need to know how it works. Communication is imparting or exchanging of
information, ideas, news and many kinds of things that undergo through your
own mind. Communication can be done by writing, like the old usual of
communication, making of letters, it can also be done by using sounds such us
the normal thing we do, talking. And for those who have disabilities like being
deaf and mute, there’s always a way for them to understand what is going on
their surroundings and what the person is trying to say to them, it is by using
Hand-signs. But there is a time or scenario where there is a problem with the
communication because of some barriers or noise that interfere the
communication.
Communication has its own process. There will be no-communication if there
is no sender, receiver, noise, feedback and a channel. When one of those are
missing it is impossible for one to have a proper communication. Sender is the
speaker, the sources, the one who initiates the conversation while the receiver
is the one who gets the idea or information through a channel, like Messenger
or any other form of communicating app that act as a medium, a pathway that
which the message will travel to reach its destination. In a communication, it’s
not just the sender that always gives the idea and information, the receiver can
also deliver his/her own idea, information and thoughts about the information
that the sender gave and that is what we called “Feedback”.
Nothing in this world is perfect, so don’t always expect that you’ll have a good
communication or conversation with others. Even communication has its own
barriers that interrupts the communication of people to others.
Communication with people who have mental problems is hard because there
is a barrier called “Psychological Noise”, talking to your partner in a party is
hard too because of the loud noise produced by your surroundings, it also a
barrier that interrupts your conversation and it is called “Environmental
Noise”. There is a lot of barriers/ noises that will interrupt a communication, it
is our duty to overcome this kind of interruption or barriers, for us to have a
clear communication. When the communication ends up and it doesn’t imply
agreement it is called “Understanding”. Communication is very important to
us, so we need to study it closely for us to make it more meaningful.
