ITALIA SRL CableTerminations

Installation Procedure
Cold Shrink Outdoor Termination
for 1 Core, XLPE Copper Wire or Copper
Tape Screen Cables, up to 36kV
Preliminary Considerations Before starting Work

The installations must be carried out by operators qualified for the use of high voltage electrical equipment.
The personnel must also be trained regarding the applicable safety regulations in the workplace, with particular
reference to the realization and work in open pit excavations, and electrical substations for maintenance of
electrical infrastructure networks.
Prepare the cable, properly raised above the ground level, in a suitable manner for the execution of the termination.
Check the suitability of the kit with respect to cable types and screen sections.
Check the availability of all tools necessary for the proper execution of the joint.
If there is any doubt on the suitability of the material or any aspect of the installation, clarify and confirm before
starting works.

Before starting to pull the coil, make sure that the terminations is in the correct position on the cable.
After cleaning the cable, make sure there are not residuals solvents.
Make sure that spiral inside the tube is not wrapped around the cable, otherwise rotate it to unwind the
spiral from the cable.
Once the termination is correctly positioned, pull and rotate the coil with constant force, making sure it
does not wrap around the cable.
