1. What does the type of language used in the society depend on? The type of
language of society depend on the culture and customs that are the most
prevalent.
Has the level of formality to speak properly declined? Why? Yes, the level of a
formal language is declined because in the age of television and the Internet,
the need to communicate to the audience at its level has degraded the level of
formality needed in order to speak effectively.
Has the professional world been damaged by the informal language? No, the
world of professional it's hasn't been damaged by the informal language.
Is the use of the formal language disappearing? No, the formal language
doesn't disappear because in society there is still a need to hold onto some
normality within language skills.

Dear Mr Peter

I am writing to complain about the awful customer service that I received from
your Company over the last six weeks in relation to my order.

I purchased a computer game on the 16th of July, on guaranteed five-day delivery

service, allowing plenty of time for delivery before my brother’s birthday in August.

After ten days, the game still had not arrived so I sent an email to find out where it
was. Two days later, there was still no response, so I tried to contact you by phone.
However, I was only able to get through to an answer phone message.

On the 6th August, I finally spoke to one of your customer services representatives,
who assured me that my order had finally been dispatched and would be delivered
on the 13th August, just in time for my brother’s birthday.

Much to my disappointment, six weeks after placing my order, I am still waiting for
the computer game to arrive. The issue has causee dan enormous disruption.

I am offended by the lack of respect shown by your Company and demand that a
refund be issued immediately.
