Subject: A big move towards online world

Respected sir/ma’am,
I am poulami mukherjee, currently pursuing B.A(J&Mc) from amity university Noida, a
student of second year. writing you this letter to highlight one of the trending ironical
situation of our society.
It was a time when parents use to give advice to their children that “unintentionally you all
one day will become an unsocialized person if you will not leave the addiction of internet”.
And this was something our parents and elders always wanted to do us, to quit online
stuffs. even the schools, colleges use to conduct seminars, lectures about the disadvantage
of using excessive social media.
So, now the question arises here as per today’s demand, time and situation what is normal?
or to be more precise what is new normal?
According to www.thehindu.com , an estimated 12.2 crore Indians have lost their jobs due
to covid-19.
And meanwhile, all the online portals like intern Shala, indeed.com, Naukri.com, and
monster.com are laying off for those people who have lost their jobs in this pandemic.
Basically, it is very clear that new normal thing has now totally shifted upon the online
streaming platforms. classes are replaced by online classes; seminars are now replaced by
webinars. people nor are particularly learning how to operate various social media
platforms, focuses now are more on mobile screens rather on theatre screens.
Currently, estimated 574 million internet users registered an annual growth of 24%, showing
an overall penetration of 41% in 2019. The rural area, which is known to live life full and
more with real life has registered 45% growth in 2019 compared to urban India’s 11%.
Parents, teachers who once advised their children to stay away from online stuffs and
platforms are now unintentionally into virtual reality. job loss has now forced the companies
to run their ventures online with all the top online market holders like zoom, slack,
Microsoft, google, cisco, LogMeIn.
Streaming channels like Netflix, amazon prime, hot star etc. are all at their high-time usage
to get rid of people’s boredom.
In short, the scenario has changed totally, but in these changes, we must not forget that one
day we all must come to real world.
Therefore, I request you to highlight this situation as an issue of concern and generate a
public interest.
