6- To become familiar with differential equations and their applications.
7- To become familiar with linear programming, solving them using computer.
8. To become familiar with the standard applications of mathematical techniques
in economics, business, management, etc.
9. To become familiar with parts of the theoretical framework that are appropriate
at this level.
7. Course Description:
The course provides an introduction to topics such as calculus, linear algebra and
optimisation techniques. Topics include basic Quantitative Methods, Mathematical
Functions, Vectors and Matrices, Differentiation and Integration, Linear
Programming, Sequences…
Students are exposed to Business Mathematical Techniques covering areas such as
Simple and Compound Interest, Present value, Discounting, Depreciation and
Amortisation.
The various quantitative methods are of particular relevance to those involved in
decision-making and analysis. The course also describes situations in which
mathematical arguments can be used in problem solving.
