CURRICULUM
I. ABSTRACT
Education is the process of facilitating learning, or the acquisition of knowledge, skills,
values, beliefs, and habits. Education methods includes story telling, discussion, teaching,
training and directed research. Education frequently take place under the guidance of
educators, however learners may also educate themselves. Education plays a vital role in
shaping successful people. It give us the opportunity to become a productive member of a
civilized society acquiring all the necessary skills. We learned how to meet challenges and
overcome obstacles. We learn how to become an integrated personality and maintain the
perpetuation for our culture. People learn basic norms, rules, regulations ,and values of society
through education .Moreover, high quality education enable us to lead a successful
life ,enhance our intelligence, skills, knowledge ,and brings positive changes in our
life .Education lays the foundation stone for our future. An alliterate person can find it very
difficult to cope with some aspects of life. Education expands our version and creates
awareness. It help us develop a disciplined life and provides us with better earning
opportunities. It enables us to know the world beyond our surroundings. Education is also a
prerequisite of the property and modernization of any country. Education is definitely
important in one’s life. A gift of knowledge can bring us to the top our dreams. It lead us to the
right path and gives us a chance to have a wonderful life. Education makes people capable of
doing new interesting things that can go along way to improving human living conditions and
standards. Our whole life is the process of learning and gaining new useful knowledge. We
should always remember that getting a good education is imperative in today’s society as it is a
foundation of our successful future. Our education is really worth investment. Only if you
believed and work hard you can achieve anything.

B. As the researcher, we agree that there will be a K-12 Curriculum.

C. The reason that we agree that there will be a K-12 Curriculum, due to the fact that
there will be an additional subject to learn. The government make this policy, because the
Philippines is one of the country who did not follow the rules of entire asia, considering that we
are late, in terms of education. The K-12 Curriculum is also important because the student will
be giving benefits like TESDA trainings that after they graduated grade-12,they have to work
when they go on colleges. The K-12 Curriculum is designed to enable graduates to join the
Workforce right after high school, if they are not capable and suitably prepare those who want
to go on to higher education.
III DISCUSSION

The first reason, the government make this policy. President Aquino signs K-12
Program into law. In historic moment for advocates for education equity. President Benigno
Aquino III approved RA 10533.Signing into law the K-12 Program on May 15,2013.

The second reason, Philippines is one of the country who did not follow the rules
of entire Asia .(We belong to the Asian Region) in 2007,the members of the ASEAN countries
approved a “blueprint” and measures to achieve regional integration which is scheduled for
2015.For the Philippines ,this is a big challenge because integration will also mean that ASEAN
members will pay less tax, less customs duties, and less import taxes.

The third reason,K-12 is important because the student will be given an exact
preparation subject when they will go on colleges.K-12 Basic Education Program aims to
provide every Filipino child with the education she/he needs to compete in global context. The
goal of new curriculum is to give Filipino students enough time to master skills and concept
such as Employment, Entrepreneurship, Skills Development (Further Technical Vocational
Learning), Higher Education (College) so that they are ready for tertiary education when the
time comes.
